Do you guys think that women find it easier being an escort than doing porn?

I talked online with some escorts(based in UK/Canada); however, it seems their life is somewhat more accessible than other sex workers. For instance, I've observed that they tend to have their website, handpick their clients, and charge higher fees(I've even heard $2000). There's even the added element of privacy. Some of them have their face blurred out. Hence they can get involved in that world and then bounce later on. I heard of a woman who ends up finishing her master's degree after escorting. Nobody knew who she was. Hence she continued with her life.
Hence, I'm surprised that in America, pornography is legal, but escorting falls in a grey area. Or even mongering going to the provides house is illegal and highly stigmatized.
In contrast, pornography seems like a very harsh industry to get involved with. I'm not talking about things like Onlyfans or uploading a couple of videos. I'm talking about being part of the industry.
From what I'm hearing, the pay is low($800 under), the demands are high(it seems that rough sex is the norm), often, the norm is not to use condoms. Hence it seems stressful to get constantly tested. I don't want to demonize the industry, but I heard there's a lot of alcohol/drug abuse going. Even if you get out of pornography widely available, it leaves you with a "stigma" that you'll have to carry. Not only might your family will judge you, but there's a lot of weirdos online who are harassing porn stars online. I was reading, and hence people who get involved in the world seem to fare worst down the line.
Again, I don't want to be judgemental or discourage anyone from pursuing a porn career. However, now that I'm pornography should not be taken lightly as some people take it.

In porn, we are allowed to say if we're comfortable with condoms or not. It's not that it's a norm, it's just more people are willing to perform without. We have a "no list" where we say what we're not willing to do or who we're not willing to perform with.
The constant testing you speak of is only if the talent is active. With escorting and porn, we work as much as we want to work. The way the testing works, is there is a national database we're all in and we have to test for STDs within 14 days of a shoot and we have to have a rapid covid test done within 3 days of a shoot. That test is good for about a month, but it is advised to be tested at least every two weeks if the talent is traveling and actively shooting. So it's not constant testing unless you want it to be constant.
I don't know why people keep mentioning $800 as an average rate of pay for porn. That's not true. Maybe for amateur porn, but not for professional porn. People say there's no money in porn, but there is so long as you're willing to put the work in. But there are several variables at play as well. Especially living so far away from the three cities that professional porn is shot in, I, at least, struggle to find work. (But I am also not actively trying right now because I'm recovering from the virus). Professional porn scenes pay between 1,000 and 3,000. It depends on how far the person is willing to go and what they're willing to do as well. Men in porn make more money than women do because there's a higher demand for men as there's far less working talent.
Professional porn has safe words and we have agents to act as liaisons and find us work. We know who we're going to be working with as well. We can stop a scene if we're not comfortable. And you're not in a room alone with one or two other people.
Unlike with escorting, which is a much more dangerous situation you're putting yourself in because of the unknown factors involved. I'm only speaking from high-end escorting. Even with high end, guys are reluctant to submit to adequate and proper screening. I know I don't want to die and I'm sure the client doesn't either. But compliance for screening is for everyone's safety.
If it's privacy the sex worker is seeking, then escorting is the way to go. Neither fare well for long-term careers though. I knew that going into sex work, too. Unfortunately though, not everybody realizes that and I can't speak on behalf of everyone else - only myself.
My family knows I'm a sex worker, but they don't know that I got involved in porn. I know they would still love me all the same if they knew and wouldn't look down at me in any way. Unfortunately, I know it's not like that for everyone.
I will say though, shooting amateur porn is a much better route to take than professional porn. Amateur porn gives you the opportunity to basically "try it out" and see if it's for you. And then the scene will usually bury itself within the internet and very few people (friends, family, coworkers, etc) related to the talent will ever find it unless the talent wants them to be aware of it. This is of course, assuming the person is smart enough to use some kind of stage name that isn't in any way similar to their real name or any other names they've used online.
But in porn, an agent is sending photos of the talent to studios trying to get them work. It is a very demanding industry and it's extremely competitive. For example, there are studios I know I will never be able to work with just because I am petite and they cater to certain fetishes.
Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully that answers your question from, at least my perspective and experience.
Thank you!!
1. What are the 3 cities porn is mostly filmed in?
2. You escort?
3. Are there scenes you’ve been in available online now?
2. I have.
3. I had to put everything on pause because I caught the virus on the 20th. I was supposed to go to LA for a week this month to shoot, had a photoshoot scheduled today actually, and my agent was trying to find me scenes for when I was to be in LA (and Vegas). I dropped everything and canceled all plans until I recover.
Unfortunately, I have a scene coming out this coming week or the week after and I'll either still be sick or recovering when it stops. Performing sex work is the last thing on my mind right now unfortunately.
Personal preference and opinion.
Thanks for the very insightful comments.
1-How much do male actors get paid?
2-Why is hard to find male talent?
3-Is there a market for regular guy having sex with cute women. Like with Jordi and others. Or would they have to produce their work indententely(like hiring actress) and then try maybe they can have a partnhership with more professional studios.
I can't give you a solid answer because it varies between studios and may depend on what the scene is. I can say the male talent in my scene made $1,200 more than I did, which is what brought on my questions about male talent with the producer. They knew I was inquisitive and they weren't bothered by my questions. But the producer and male talent both said men make more.
"2-Why is hard to find male talent?"
I asked the producer if he works with first time male talent and he said no. The talent from my scene chimed in and said a lot of newer male talent has the attitude of being able to get any girl off or having an overall immature attitude and/or view of being in the industry. A lot of male talent I've interacted with have small egos, but it's part of their character. The male talent I filmed with has an ego on film, but off film, he was really fucking awesome and we just chatted and hung out like friends. Finding males who can set aside that persona for off camera is difficult I guess.
"3-Is there a market for regular guy having sex with cute women. Like with Jordi."
If you Google Jordi, he is not a "regular guy". Jordi got his start with Brazzers. To be a part of Brazzers, you need an agent to get you in. He is just another professional male talent. But any market you speak of like that would be amateur porn or "first time on camera porn" (my scene was professional, but the AVNs would see it as amateur because it's first time on camera. hopefully that makes sense). Any guy who wants to get into porn and be taken seriously and not a creep is best to have agency representation because no professional female talent would want to work with him (I know my few pro porn friends would agree). Credibility goes a long way. For example, it's not male talent, but a photographer emailed me asking to book me for a shoot. I told him to book me through my agent. He responded saying he never hears back from my agency. I asked my PR. He told me the photographer most likely has no credibility and thus no agent is going to waste time, energy, effort, and resources AND risk talent's safety booking with someone who 1. claims to be amateur, and 2. has nothing to show to back up their claims. And no studio is going to do a "partnership" with some unknown. Partnerships aren't really a thing, it would be more like renting the space. But even then, that's not a thing. The studio offers to book you if they like what they see. The agent is the liaison and point of contact between talent and studios and producers. So if any guy wants to just fuck hot porn actresses (that are not amateur) on film, they can hire them through escort agencies or get an agent and get booked I guess.
