Not interested in that. I've never been to Utah. But aren't the clubs in Salt Lake kinda lame anyway ?

I hope that Utah has not banned internet porn cause this isn't going to cut it.

Maybe Salt Lake is doing that so you don’t know if the dancer is one of your wives

That was a very well written article.

I'm sure they'll try that same BS in Phoenix to start.

I bet all that crap will be discontinued within a month.

Mormons don't even drink booze, so I think a lot of this is coming from the Mormon majority intepretation of sin and morality

Not much different, but I would neuter myself with a plastic spork before subjecting myself to anything remotely like this
Would literally never go again.

Years ago I saw a girl wearing a t-shirt that read "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you may be in Utah".

Unlike Lone Wolf, I don't see this ending in a month. I think we will see flareups and hot spots causing extended social distancing, intermittent lockdowns, and real problems for all businesses and industries.

It's basically gogo dancing or burlesque. I mean it's fine for the "go to a bar have a couple beers and see some tits" experience. I don't see how the dancers will make any money except maybe pity in the short run.

They can make money if they're open to OTC. No change there

"And just as one patron is about to show me yet another action-hero inspired face covering, a fight breaks out in the parking lot of the bar, causing several people to forgo their social distance—and suggesting that even the most carefully maintained precautions sometimes fail."

This sums it up. If you don't want to risk ending up close to someone, don't go to a strip club until you're ready to have people near you. And that's a valid choice. Or go if you want to and deal with whatever they've setup for COVID-19 response. It's an individual decision, and why another person has made a choice for themselves is none of my business.

That would be interesting if the new normal shifted back to how it was. I believe it was Nina who describes it then? Dancers were paid hourly—and actual hourly (not some California accounting loophole stuff). Dances are done on pedestals. And it’s a different experience.

But I figure there’s a reason that stuff died out in the early 90s and the cat is out of the bag and it’s not coming back (for long). So in short I agree with LoneWolf.

That's how it used to be in Windsor. Gorgeous nude ladies standing on a little mini-stage aboot 2-3 feet away from you with absolutely zero contact........ what a total waste of $20..... of course, that was before the internet.

I would just take an extended break from dancing if that happened near me. Who knows if management would cut down or partially waive the house fees for the dancers that would want to go back to work. If my imagination is working correctly, I'd probably make just as much if not less dancing in this setup than if I were to work a regular retail/minimum wage job.

Funny thing is that there are girls that are stupidly excited for this kind of setup at their club because customers "HAVE to respect their boundaries now and can't touch", and I'm just like . . . all the more reason for them to leave the club and go find something else to do.

Yes, not just dancers but many people forget what aspect of their job is what makes them the money.

Once had a girl in a high mileage club move my hand away from just moderate boob contact, telling me "I'm an entertainer, not a whore". But then she added "If you want to do that it is $300 for VIP, but you can't touch me for $10."

Requiring that I register my phone number upon entry, even if motivated by public health concerns, would be a deal breaker for me

@Electronman - agreed. Anyone thinking these "tracers" are just going to send friendly reminders of exposure are dilusional.

They will probably want to know a bunch more info with the backing of the law. Fuck that.

Eve I'm not sure they will leave the club as much as throw a dollar or two at the nude girls. I'm sure those same girls who are excited about their boundaries being respected will hate only making $10-20 per hour in stage tips, before tip out.

Probably going to be the norm for the first few months as clubs start to open up. I will save my money and stay away until things relax.

Traditionally-lame Utah clubs are not the best barometer of how the club scene will be going-forward - my assumption is that traditionally good-mileage clubs will resort to mileage fairly soon; the dancers are used to contact-style $$$ which they won't get w/o contact, and for the most-part the custies in good-mileage clubs are used to contact and I assume won't spend much if there isn't contact.

Originally I was thinking the clubs would defy distancing orders so they can have decent business, but perhaps they may be putting their liquor license or club permit in play and this may stop them from taking chances - that old-guy barber that has refused to stay closed had his license revoked but he keeps on cutting hair.

Thats what is called wishful thinking Eve. I will respect the no touch preferences of dancers by staying away. Strip clubbing with 6 feet of air between you was called 1978. Been there; done that; all set.

I stopped going to strip clubs for quite a while when Ohio enacted a 6 foot rule for all clubs. There was simply no reason to go to a strip club without at least basic contact lap dances.

Luckily by the time I started going back about 5 or 6 years later the enforcement of the rule had stopped. Hopefully this rule isn't enforced nearly that long.

Not much has changed for Utah... it was pretty lame to begin with.

The contact tracing bit is what worries me most. I see some serious unintended consequences if I got contact traced back to a strip club.

Did I miss something? I was under the impression that IC's such as most dancers, and gig economy workers, were allowed to apply for unemployment benefits under these newly changed rules.
