I was at a rural dive strip club on a busy Saturday night. The club employed a Mexican guy to be the doorman whose job it was to check ID's and take the cover charge. About forty-five minutes after I arrived, the doorman got into a big argument on the phone and told the female bartenders he had to leave immediately. This left no one to watch the door.
Sitting at the bar near the door, I told the head bartender I could fill in for the time being. I collected $5 from every patron who came in and put it in an envelope that the club used to store its entrance fees. I only had to check ID's on people that looked like they were younger, so all the old guys did not need to whip out their driver's licenses. The worst part of the job was when guys paid the cover with $20 bills, and I had to give them $15 of change in singles and fives. I ended up staying at the club for the rest of the night and did not get any playtime with the ladies, but it was an interesting experience and I was able to lend a helping hand. I guess I can include makeshift bouncer on my job history now, even though it was for just one night.

Well that's a first - only thing that would have made it more interesting is if you had to kick somebody's ass for getting out of line
