New post warning via founder

Call.Me.Ishmael
Rhode Island
Appearing between the text field and the 'post' button:

"Keep your comments civil. If you wouldn't say it face to face, don't type it in. If you can't help yourself, your comment and/or account may be deleted."

Also, this warning before you create a new thread:

"Our discussion boards are not moderated, but that doesn't give you license to be an idiot. Do not create nonsense topics just to spam the discussion boards. Your post should spur thoughtful responses. If you don't have something thoughtprovoking to post, then don't post. If you post inane topics you risk your post, and possibly your account, being deleted."

Good I hope founder sticks to it, there are some limits, glad it's not just me that feels that way.

Amen to that. The spam/trolling threads are just as bad as political flaming.

I modified it a little. Felt it was too wordy.

Our discussion boards are not moderated, but don't post stupid shit.

I look at it this way. You don't like the "rules" of founder, get the "F" out of here!

I think you have to be a real asshole to piss me off. I'm super chill and easy going.

My assumption is that this is a direct response to VH_Kicks / TFP2020.

Even with the editing, it's a lot of broad terms across the two warnings. It'll be interesting to see how and when the trigger gets pulled.

Because I'm sure what some of us view as "stupid shit" others view as valuable contributions.

Civility is also in the eye of the beholder...

CMI, I think you worry too much.

99.99999% of the posts here are fine. It's that rare worthless pile of drivel that was posted to incite people (rather than make them think) that is not welcome here.

Doesn't this come under the term "moderation"?

Got it. So, I'll ask a specific question. What about txtittyfag's posts and threads?

I don't bother him and he doesn't bother with me. But, the vast majority of his comments are the exact opposite of civil (I'm pretty sure that even he wouldn't argue that point...). And, his parody threads of SJG's threads don't serve any purpose aside from clogging the board and goading SJG.

To be clear, I'm not an SJG fan and I'm not defending him. My issues with him are a separate matter.

Txtitty fag is treading lightly

^ So just a quick question do you consider the moniker he gave himself recently treading lightly on the edge of say, civility, or just letting everyone in the room know he’s a jackass and all known facts are that jackasses bray out loud.

I think everyone knows he's a jackass.

Ok I haven't been keeping up with everything lately so I'm not quite clear sure of this. But what was the exact reason for TFP2020 having his account deleted? I mean I know he constantly argued with folks calling them fags, sucks, etc. But was that it? Because I've seen much worse around here.

To this point I thought the only stuff that qualified you for deletion was fucking around in the review section.

I respect that founder does not want to police the boards or have them moderated, which is why we have the options for ignoring other members. Having said that, I am shocked by the sheer amount of spam and trolling I see on the boards when I forget log in first.
