Exactly, I had to check 3x to make sure I was reading a CNN article. What a complete faceplant.

CNN employs conservatives, on air and in print, for the opposing view, and that's what this orange orangutan-loving twat was spewing.
But I'll give him credit for this: He provided some good jerking off material for Trump-loving inbreds. That's assuming someone with a sixth-grade education read the story to them.

The piece was by Chris Cilliza, CNN Editor-at-Large. He is far from a Trump apologist. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews…

Your hatred of Trump So is intense and irrational and you can’t see reality.

Trump derangement Syndrome is an actual mental illness. Watched the debate last night: is there a democrat in this Country not running on a platform of giving away taxpayer dollars to those who do not contribute? Nothing is free and the hard-working taxpayer is getting screwed.

Conservative? Cillizza hates Trump. Even on CNN, he's one of the staunchest anti-Trump voices.

Pelosi is wisely living to fight another day, she's got a weak hand on trying to force Senate procedure.

Her bigger concern should be widespread apathy over impeachment. Ukraine is old news; anti-Trump outrage is focused on Iran, and it'll be something else soon from Trump the walking heat magner. Lucilla from Gladiator was right: "The mob is fickle, brother. He'll be forgotten inside of a month."

I don’t agree with Cillizza that she failed. Everyone wants to declare winner/loser but it’s shades of gray. During the time she withheld, (i) Bolton came out and said he’d testify, (ii) Parnes delivered his evidence about Giuliani’s intent about why they wanted the investigation of Biden, (iii) they got the emails and texts showing how many people were coordinating the effort to investigate and (iv) you’ve got some Republicans saying they may need to call witnesses. I respect the hell out of McConnell even if I don’t agree with him, but it’s going to be hard to put the impeachment to a quick vote and not come off as a sham trial. That’s a pretty good haul for Nancy IMO.

I wish you'd stop being objective and making sense, @McNulty. You really don't belong here.

However, I don't "respect the hell out of McConnell." He has enormous and disproportionate power given the fact that he was elected by about 4% of the population. McConnell has more power to run the Senate trial than John Roberts.

I don't know what to make of Bolton agreeing to testify (if subpoenaed) to the Senate but not the House. Maybe he knows the Senate will not ask him to testify? Or maybe it has something to do with his upcoming book? You would think that the TUSCL crowd would want to hear from someone like Bolton.

And the whistleblower should *not* be asked to testify for obvious reasons. Hunter Biden should not be asked to testify because the senate trial's about abuse of power and the subsequent cover-up. Trump had years to investigate Hunter Biden in a legitimate way without bribing the Ukrainian government.

Bolton said he'd testify if he was supoenaed and that is up to the Republicans. In any trial, in any ssytem, no one can testify to another's intent and as such parnes' notes are irrelevant, unlike GHuiliani's notes; it appears Biden committed a criminal act by gettoing the ne'er do well loser Hiunter a job and getting Ukraine to investigate seems appropriate; People can say they want witnesses, especially when they have no say in if they are called, so anti-Trump Romney, whom I actually worked for on 3 campaigns saying he wants witnesses is like Schumer saying it. The entire impeachment process has been an embnarrassing disaster; proivng that while we have an ignorant douche bag in the Oval Office, as pathetic as it seems he is preferable to any of the six synophants on the stage last night.

@Random - I suspect Bolton wants to testify so that he can put more dirt in his book. If he’s testified on the record, he won’t be at risk of getting sued for violating executive privilege. It makes for a better book and more sales, even if a good bit of the story comes out first in the testimony. That’s my guess anyway.

It really is not relevant what anyone here says or thinks the fact is Donald J. Trump is one of only three US presidents to be impeached and regardless of the outcome that will forever be part of his record.

^whats to say, article hit it on the head. Pelosi has no business trying to dictate how the senate should run things and vice versa. By claiming that omg this is a crisis and then not turning over the docs showed just what a political maneuver this was. Maybe the time gives her extra time for people to come forward but I call bullshit, they didn’t do an exhaustive and open process. This is a disgrace and it makes her look like an idiot, hell the extra time had people like AOC and Al Green come out and say it’s all about the election. I think she wanted to hold it longer, but Trump would rip them into an ass at the state of the union had they been holding on. I also think that the candidates are so uninspired that they’re using this to figure out who the DNC should get behind and their timing had something to do with figuring out who resonates while Trump is forefront in the media. It’s nauseating and the American people will see through it and this is exactly why this guy got elected, because of this silly shit.

Good news on the debate, Sanders is toast.

Forefront in the media for being impeached and launching illegal strikes to start wars --- only a MAGA-Asshole would consider this "good publicity" --- I can't wait for Uncle Joe to eradicate you scumbags
—
Forefront in the media for impeachment because the scumbag swamp rat liberals put him there which is exactly what he is going to remind voters. The swamp is playing games instead of running the country, and starting wars with illegal strikes. Gtfo. Nobody knows the intelligence he had. Haven’t seen a war started, so your statement is just bullshit propaganda. We did see a country shoot down a plane and blatantly lie about it though....

So... let’s try it this way... what is the fallout from Nancy “shitting the bed?” Is Trump now not going to get removed from office? Is the senate trial going to be less fair? Are more republicans going to vote against Democrats? Seems at most, status quo.

@Jimmy, it’s just a reminder to the people why Trump got elected, they don’t want these political games. They want focus on economy, healthcare, taxes (retirement), security, etc. I think this gives Trump an angle to double down on draining the swamp. Now, it’s easy to armchair qb, but had the house been more transparent with its hearings, conducted a little more well rounded research, and had Nancy immediately delivered the articles and said ‘This was of utmost importance, the house did its job. Now the House has done its job and now turns the articles over to the capable senate and we will get back to work on the economy, etc,’ it would’ve gone over much better. IMO only. Instead they played right into Trumps hand and gave him material. Maybe people will forget, maybe they won’t.
