Now i know whatβs valuable. I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago. The doctor charged my insurance company close to $6000 for the opportunity to stick a probe up my ass.
This is kind of a medical scam. Routine screening colonoscopy is a much lesser charge. Usually with no co-pay. Hence the GI Doctor asking a bunch of questions attempting to make it not a screening exam. "Oh, you farted once back in April. Okay, this is a medically necessary examination." The system is royally F'd up.

But it works out to cost less in a place with single payer health care, like Canada. The equipment is more heavily used.
