Anyone here ever used the hkmexpress service that Hong Kong promoted on their Twitter? If so, can anyone share their experience with them and/ or share some tips with this rookie planning his first trip south of the border for some fun? Thanks!

I’ve done a lot of research and I’m finally planning on making my first trip down there for some fun! My only concern at this point is safety. As I’m sure we all know, TJ doesn’t exactly have the best reputation to say the least. I wanna use their VIP border pickup service and take adavantage of this service to personally escort me across the border to their limo for pickup. They say they do personally escort you across the border to the limo for your safety and expedite the check in process. Anyone got some tips?

Seen both. Went through ped east and no limo. Went through west and HK guy was there and walked me to limo

See the reviews on HK. A LOT of info there.

Ped West like Phandy said, the limo driver is usually waiting right at the exit of the border crossing to walk you over to the building that houses the limo and the towncar. Totally professional and totally safe. Limo driver speaks English and will even suggest some other places of interest in TJ.

Ped East, you'll have to make due with a regular taxi. I've had no problems with it. But the Limo is definitely a better experience.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the info. Would you guys recommend this service at all or should I just save my money and take pedwest?

I see that huge line of cars waiting to cross and think I don't want to be in that traffic jam. When you are walking across, there is never a line going from the US to Mexico. And like others have said, the HK limo is right on the other side of the border crossing. I also feel very safe in any taxi there.

@LALover if you cross at Pedwest you should absolutely use the limo service. The limo is free. Whether you tip the limo driver is up to you but you'll feel like much less of a jerk if you do. I usually just tip him the same $5 that I was gonna pay the regular taxi.

If you cross at PedEast, the easiest crossing to use when riding the trolley to get to the border, then you're stuck with using a regular Taxi or walking.

or take the ruta bus to third and centro for 10 peso. then it is less than a four block walk north on constitution to hk. gives you a chance to pick up some things at calimax and ahorro pharmicas if needed.

once in a while a hk car/limo will park just west of where ped east walkway hits the street. it is a challange to see the car now. (hk lost the good spot that they had.)

ped west hk pickup garage location is more convenient to ped west. exit the mexican port and walk under the overpass and immediately turn left and walk about 100 feet further to the east will be the HK pickup garage. and stop tipping these guys soooo much!!! (i tip a buck.) it's only a three minute drive.

$5 isn't SOOOOO much. Especially when you only use the thing one or two times.

I actually read on Hong Kong’s yelp page that you can tip your mesero to get you some tacos from outside. Being that this is gonna be my first time here and that I’m really unfamiliar with the area, that’s exactly what I’m gonna do to try some of those tacos I’ve heard so much about

Plus, I’ve only heard about nothing but bad things going on in the general area surrounding the club anyway, so this is probably the only way to go especially if you’re going alone

When are going?

Generally where are you coming from (flying in or driving)?

How many days are you planning to be in the Zona Norte?

Are you staying in San Diego or TJ?

My opinion only, while TJ (especially the Zona Norte) is not a great place, it is not generally unsafe.

The Zona depends on tourist dollars and they make sure to protect them to spend their money in Mexico.

The Zona is safe man. Ain't nobody worried about you or what you do. Her out there and have some fun. Visit a pharmacia, check out the street chicas, whatever. But don't let some hyper sensetive reports scare you. Go get your own tacos, they're only half a block away.

@Cristobal not sure yet when I’m going. It will be soon though. Likely within the next month. Just gotta get approval from work to get a couple days off and I’m good to go. I live in LA so I’m just a 2 hour drive away from the border. Planning on driving there, parking at the border station parking and walking across the ped west station. I’m also planning on staying at Cascadas for a couple days during my visit

@TFP as far as safety in the zona goes, I’ve read mixed things. Namely, that it’s generally unsafe but that you should be ok as long as you keep your guard up and practice common sense. Common sense being not getting drunk in the street, not wandering too far away from the club, avoiding dark alleys, not dressing like a rich guy etc. Because the club is also heavily secured, it’s the safest place to be at all times. Despite the security, however, I still found a review on Hong Kong’s yelp page that there was a dead body literally in front of the entrance to the club! Yikes!

Now I don’t know if that review is true or not, but that’s still a scary thing to imagine. Not gonna let that stop me from going there and having some fun, but it’s something all of us gotta remember when we head out there.

If you arrive at Pedwest just walk over to the HK shuttle (limo) service and they will drop you in front of HK/Hotel Cascadas for free (típ the driver a dollar or two).

You understand the common sense of safety pretty well, I would add: not carrying too much cash (and showing it in public).

Overall, I feel safe in the Zona Norte but always need to be cautious.

One note on the side of caution: while most BGs are relatively honest, be very careful who you allow to stay/sleep in your room, yes it is flattering, even desirable to have a beautiful women sleep in your room but be aware of risks.

@MisterWonderful I was actually planning on going during the slowest days lol. Namely because I’d like to get that 80% off the hotel room on Monday and Tuesday with that VIP card so I can spend more on my arriba experiences with the girls and so that I get more pussy to myself.

I read that if you go during peak times, you not only get fewer options because of the sheer number of customers, but that the girls also tend to rush more and just move on from client to client because this is their best time to make money. I’m also personally looking to spend multiple hours with a girl (something that I know may be a challenge after reading the thread here about the 1 hour rule) plus I like to get really freaky if you know what I mean 😜

I like to take my time and please the girl too (eat her out, rim her ass, all that stuff) and while I know this isn’t the best idea, I gotta at least make sure I’m the first guy she’s with that day and I’m not eating her out after she’s fucked a bunch of other dudes before me that day. If she just starts her shift, or better yet if I see them off the clock when I know I’m the only one she’s with for the day, I can at least live out this fantasy in peace lol

Yeah I don’t plan on carrying too much cash with me. Just enough to pay for the VIP card and then just a couple stacks of singles and some fives for tips and lady drinks. Whatever else I need is why we have our Charles Schwab card to withdraw pesos from the ATM there.

While it would be tempting to let a BG spend the night, I wouldn’t even consider it if I have any valuables or cash with me. It’s almost like asking to get robbed. Unless I know I can safely stash my passport, my Schwab card, my keys, etc. in the safe in my room and that there’s no way she can get to it, I probably still wouldn’t do it until she and I have build more rapport

When you walk out of front doors of HK, the closest taco, hang a left and the taco stand is a 15 second walk to the corner. Have fun, don't live in fear, the taco stand is not a danger zone. Just keep your wits about you and keep your stuff safe in your pockets or in your hotel room if you have one. There are some beggars and street people around the taco stand but nothing to be worried about if you're observant of your surroundings

I understand the fear and aprehension, my first visits were with friends but we mongered differently so if I wanted to truly enjoy the Zona Norte I had go solo.

Now I feel it is my second home, I walk around at night, I walk to and from the boarder at all hours, I walk all around TJ (not just the Zona Norte).

Since you are from LA, you might benefit from just making a day trip to TJ for your first visit rather than a few days.

Just an update here. The guy was not standing at pedwest but you can still take the shuttle. Just like on their twitter feed video you walk across the street by farmacia and turn left. Walk past the club with loud music and look on your right. There is a garage with HK limos there

Also, it’s fun solo. Done it 3 times now and most people are super friendly. I have some new buddies in London now courtesy of this past trip.

Take the taxi to HK, no need to walk around looking for the HK shuttle. It's safe to walk from the border offices to the taxis in their fenced walkway. Try not to get your drink spiked.
