Do any clubs still have Amateur Night? I have not seen it in Atlanta in 15+ years. Heard it was mostly girls from other clubs on their night off, but some true amateurs would be mixed in. That was before I knew most of the girls from other clubs by sight, LOL!
There was no permits involved if I recall. There was one girl that did the amateur night circuit of 4-5 clubs. Basically she could dance for an hour or two 5 nights a week with no tipout or permit. This was back before VIP rooms were common and extras were anything but a rarity.

Back in 2011/12 there was an Atlanta dancer named RFcookie that participated in the discussion board. She admitted to winning an amateur night at the Columbia SC Platinum Plus. So yes, they were pretty fake and I haven't heard of any anywhere in years.

I think the Uptown Cabaret in Charlotte still has something like this on a Sunday night. I have not been there, and it may have ended, but they used to advertise it frequently.

Saw some good ones at Derriere's in Myrtle Beach a few years back but, it's been awhile.
Yes, on the Wet T's..... man, those used to be fun BITD when I think ladies were a little less inhibited before the advent of cell phones. My best memory was at a place called Mother Fletchers's in Myrtle Beach; started talking to this conservative looking brunette who was very pretty in her plain jane sundress.... we had a few beers, danced and she pressed up against me a few times and I said to myself shit, this girl has a rack underneath that dress. Told me she was a schoolteacher from the Columbia area.
Well, the DJ calls out that contestants for the Wet T contest need to sign up and this babe says excuse me I need to go get my name on the list.... !! Thirty minutes later she is up on stage, stripped down to bikini bottoms and that Wet T. Came down to the three finalists of which she was one. Ripped that shirt right in half and threw it out to the crowd; the place went nuts; incredible boobs. She won of course, as the other two girls flashed but, did not strip topless like she did.
Came back to hang out with me the rest of the night and I felt like the king of the club. Dudes were congratulating us and buying us rounds of beers on top of the $250 she won. Sigh, the good old days....

Many of the clubs in the Deja Vu franchise run weekly amateur contests. They seem to also function as auditions for the club.

A few months ago one of the COI SCs promoted an amateur night but it really ended up dancers from other clubs, not nubile new dancers.

I've never ever seen or heard of an amateur night in Portland. Brand new strippers are simply put into the normal rotation.

I've been to a few but they weren't anything special. Most of the women who showed up were strippers from other clubs wanting a prize or something without paying house fees.

Seems lile a gimmick whose time has come and gone - and with info on the internet today many custies are probably clued in that it is rigged and not really amateurs for the most part - perhaps it may have worked in yearss past when custies were more in the dark and/or there was more of a "show"/performances to strip clubs

I don't think a wet tshirt contest would do much for me these days - perhaps in the 80s & 90s pre-internet when it was harder to see nudity-on-demand it was more of a rush, but today I doubt it would do much for me and I'd likely find it boring and too-tame

It was at one of their amateur nights that I first learned about the standard black girl style approach. Got this house dancer I was close to really pissed off.
Wanna be Brass Rail dancers auditioned. They could get hired without winning.
Girls from other local clubs danced, just to get some extra money from the big crowd.
Cadre of once a week girls danced.
And lots of hookers. I think some danced, but many never did.

I wish, they were a significant part of the fun in my early days (late 80s). Twas a thrill to see a couple gals from the community College I was going to.

Yeah, amateur night used to be pretty fun, but haven't seen one in at least 20 years. Wet T-shirt contests were fun too, but haven't seen those in about the same time. The last one I saw was the most fun. One of the contestants came back to my apartment.

Came here on a Thursday night for the amateur contest. I was pleasantly surprised - it's a very nice club! Very large, and dimly lit, but nicely appointed. Everything looks well maintained and well taken care of. Two bars, three stages. Bartenders are busy, but efficient. The girls here are generally quite attractive and would do well anywhere, even in "competitive" cities like Atlanta. It's a topless only place and the girls can set their own prices for dances - generally girls ask for $30 for a lap dance in the couch area, and $10 for a table dance on the floor. Not bad, and while there is contact and grinding, it's not obscene. I'm told that management has cracked down lately on "extras" in the club, so it seems like a nice reputable place to visit. Not a lot of stage tipping going on though, which is unfortunate - there are some very good pole dancers in here, and I think they should be rewarded for their hard work.

The most "authentic" amateur nights I ever saw were about 10 years ago at Derriere's in Myrtle Beach. Yeah, there were dancers from other clubs but plenty of legit girls from the crowd as well who would get up on stage stripping down to various states of undress. They would all get a empty 12 pack box (BYOB club) and collect their dollar bills. It was an incredible shit show. The place is closed now but man that was fun to watch.

Back in the early 90's we had a new 18 year-old smoking hot girl we hired. She had this reputation as a church lady and dressed all buttoned up. One day she heard a couple of us talking about a nearby strip club. She got all red and we thought she would go to HR. Instead, she told us she was going to be in their amateur contest that night and would we come and cheer for her! It was a dare from her friends.
Well, about 8 horny engineers showed up hooting and hollering and tipping dollar bills. She was up against what looked like dancers from other clubs, but she won!
After that she loosened up a bit. She started a personal tradition of Braless Friday. She was a popular lunch date for all the single guys :-)
