China cheats

We’ve known for decades that chlorofluorocarbons ( CFC) used in refrigerators and air conditioners, deplete the Ozone layer. Ozone in the upper atmosphere keeps out harmful ultraviolet light. That’s why the Montreal Protocol was developed to ban CFCs.

The Montreal Protocol has been signed by 197 countries around the world, including Canada, the U.S., and China. As the ozone layer in our upper atmosphere slowly depleted — letting in an increasing amount of the sun’s ultraviolet rays — the protocol contributed to a significant reduction in harmful CFCs, which then allowed for a slow healing of the damaged ozone layer.

That is until last year, when scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association found that global emissions of Trichlorofluoromethane (CFC-11) have actually been increasing since 2013.

Scientists have now determined that the source of these CFCs is eastern China. They have continued to use CFCs because it is cheaper than alternatives.

That is just one more example of how China ignores the rules that are followed by all other nations.

Chinese, like the Russians, are ruthless. It’s anything for an end to their means regardless of the consequences. Maybe because of the government dictating control it’s that environment that creates a do whatever it takes mentality.

Since everyone is so bent in hating a Trump, he at least has the experience to know how they operate. Don’t negotiate with them and let them deal with their own consequences, because they want play ball anyway. The president is dealing with then the inky way you can, cut them off to the west’s imports and you will see them slowly deteriorate as an economy and their people will again start revolting.

As I've posted b/f, China is problematic and if you don't deal with them now it'll be much harder in the future when their economy and defense will be even bigger and stronger - the current China president seems he wants to be there for life meaning no change in course.

Chinese president wants to emphatically return China to it's former glory of centuries ago and seems by any means possible - reminds me of Hitler's same ambitions for Germany.

I complete agree China has some huge issues with human rights and pollution and those seem like the issues this President cares the least about.

Luckily a chunk of the Republican party has agreed the Earth is getting warmer, sea level are rising and their beach front property may suffer. It can be a tightrope for them to walk discussing concrete solutions.
