So basically it’s like the high school kids in the 90’s who were “seriously into Buddhism”. Looking into another culture for a way for desperately uninteresting people to try to be interesting, got it.
This is about putting the 2 into the alphabet soup, not about the anthropological meaning, which is interesting but I wonder if perhaps over emaphasized and romanticized.
