Teflon-coated presidency A president’s ability to deflect charges of corruption

It is a significant phenomenon in American politics — the willingness of voters to excuse in some politicians shortcomings that they wouldn’t accept in most others...

American Denial an American Dilemma...

Title, almost, says it all.

Bill Clinton was the greatest at this.

In the hyper partisan current age we have a third of voters for whom the President can do no wrong and a third that won't be happy until he is exiled. This was true under Obama and is true now.

The shutdown was an example of a distinct lack of Presidential shutdown. The President caved because he was taking heat for it.

^ partially agree.

Just about all libtards and democrats got an erection/wet at the mere mention of Obama's name.

There are many conservatives and Republicans that don't like Trump at all.

Its not about liking or not liking. You have to be an ignoramus to view politics as a visceral act... Its about his policies. His support of a "colored revolution" in Venezuela, his lack of environmental initiatives, taking the US out of important foreign treaties like the nuclear non proliferation treaty and the Kyoto Protocol...his cronyism, his attempts to gut the ACA and attacks on immigrants...his union busting measures...

Bill Clinton started getting clobbered on Day 1.

Teflon worked for Trump up until the shutdown. Now he is getting picked to pieces.

After 2 years of investigaton, there is no evidence of any specific corruption on Trump’s part. A few people associated with him have been caught in process crimes having nothing to do with Trump. If the FBI spent 2 years investigating any one of us, I’m sure they would claim to find something.

Half the country doesn’t like his policies or his style but there is no evidence of corruption.

Slick Willy was indeed the worst. His adventures as Governor of Arkansas were legendary, yet none of his constituents seemed to care. And they had a hell of a time managing around his libido while he was in the White House. The staff knew not to allow even moderately attractive females to be alone with him, but obviously they slipped up on the intern front.

True 'dat. But they like his policy positions and his effectiveness in getting them enacted a great deal. I think he is going to win re-election and vie the whiny latte and wine bar types another 4 year term in which to lose their minds. Too bad they didn't have the strength of character to make good on their promises to move to Canada if Trump was elected. ;)

"vie" should have read "give."

RickDugan, You're telling people to leave the United States and move to Canada, a country dealing with its own most right wing government, as a solution to disapproving of the US' semi-fascist president?

Trump is a wacko President. The sooner he and his people are gone, the better.
