“What’s Your Price?

I tripped over an on-line dating service and the concept caught my attention. You register with a picture & brief description of which of your characteristics would make others interested in you. I registered without using a credit card and within hours startied to receive “bids” for dates. The first was from an attractive woman who envisioned her first date as being dinner, conversation, and a plan for a second date if wanted. She bid $150.00. The second was from a 20 year old from a nearby seedy city who also bid $150. She envisioned the first date as “dinner in a real fancy restaurant and then get a hotel room I guess”. One bidder started at $450. The more bids I received the more I thought 1/2 were hookers and 1/2 looking for a relationship. The theory is you can reply to the “bidder” and negotiate a price ( for their time I guess).
Venturing into the unknown on-line makes me nervous. I’m too much of a sucker for a good sales pitch. So I tried reading the fine print to learn how the website earns their money, just what you’re negotiating for, basically how the whole thing works, but reading it would put Perry Mason to sleep. So I did find out how to delete my “membership” and did so, but am still curious. With Backpage and other sources gone it’s hard to find relatively local escorts and am wondering if any of you have used this or any similar “dating service”?

That site is an offshoot of seeking arrangement.

WYP is definitely not my cup of tea, and once you really figure out how it works, I'm not sure anyone (except DC, maybe?) on tuscl would be interested. As Paul Drake said, it's owned by the Seeking Arrangement folks. As you described, you offer some amount of money (say, $100) to take a hot chick (or a chick whose pics are hot, at least) to dinner or whatever. That's all that's guaranteed. There's a chance she's an escort and you can negotiate extra $ on top of the $150 you already paid her, for after-dinner action. There's a chance -- in fact, a very good chance -- that going to dinner for $150 with some sucker is her side hustle, and the totality of your experience is going to be paying $150 for dinner with a chick who might be as hot as her pics. That's it.

Nearly any other option is better, IMO. SA, OTCs, etc.

Sure sounds like a scam in the making, but you gotta say way to go for those girls, monetizing their looks lol

I thought it had been described as if it was some kinda auction where guys start bidding and the highest-bidder "wins" - sounds like just a good-way to fleece horny losers - where do I sign up

I can find plenty of strippers for OTC, and I can see them and talk with them in the club before a date.

I just checked the site out. Surprised at how many average to below average looking girls feel entitled to being paid...

I've heard alot of bad things about the site. You have to use credits to communicate with each woman, so you are paying the website just to make offers to the women. There are also alot of girls who just want $150 to be taken out for a free dinner at a nice restaurant. Many will come up with excuses when dinner is over why they won't go back to a hotel with you. The site has been around a long time.

I think it came before Seeking Arrangements. Anyway, we have talked a lot about his under "Miss Travel".

F2f first meetings, not online introduction sites.
