FUCK IT!
I had a review where I reported that a club had closed rejected yesterday. The experts that rejected my review gave these reasons. Two said there weren't enough details. What details should be posted for a closed club? That is the detail, the club has closed.

The other expert must have thought I gave too many details because his reason for rejecting it was that it was too explicit.

Here's the email I received...…..

Hi TheeOSU.

We're sorry, but your review of Million Dollar Club was not published for the following reasons:

Please feel free to correct and resubmit your review.

Text of Review:

Strange that nobody reviewed this club since my review from July last year. I guess they were too busy loading their Uzis and getting ready to bust some caps. This is more of a heads up as opposed to a review. I'm in the area fairly often and have driven by the Million Dollar Club several times in the evening. It has been closed every time.

It appears that the last of many shootings there that happened two or three months ago where some punk thug outside the club shot through the door and hit a dancer inside in the head killing her was the final act.
The Million Dollar Club appears to be done for good. Although I didn't have any problems when I was there last year I never intended to stop in again so it's no big loss.

^
A quick skim through today's reviews I saw 3 reviews where the review was that a club had closed. None had more details than my review.

Yes I'm peeved that my review was rejected yet those others were approved. I have VIP access for the next 2 years so it's not like I needed the VIP credit BTW, I wrote it with the intention of reporting the club was closed and why it was closed. No doubt it's the luck of the draw as to who happens to be reading and deciding what unpublished reviews are approved/rejected at any given point in time but to me it's proof that the system Founder intended when he decided to have VIPs approve reviews is flawed.

I resubmitted my review to let clubbers know there's no reason to consider going there.

Good to know that TUSCL will "tattle" on you if you reject somebody's poorly written review. :/

I'm probably one of the people that approved those 3 reviews. I did so as a PSA to let everyone know that they were closed. At the same time I submitted a "Suggest edit" for each club showing them closed per review.

Obviously not every one is in agreement on how to do things.

Exactly Shadow, that's why I posted it.

Seems odd that Founder lists the names of who rejected a submission. That just seems like a good way to stir up shit.

I think we need to have a better way to list clubs as closed. I guess the proper way is to submit a "suggest edit" like Shadowcat said but I don't think the majority of TUSCL members know to go that route.

Yeah a closed club is more of a PSA and should not be held to the same standards as a regular club visit

I guess if one describes what the club, girls, and dances were like, then it can more resemble a review

I come across many closed down clubs as I travel the amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties of this amazing country. PM founder and tell him the club is closed. He will have the club marked as closed within 24 hours. No need to waste your time reviewing a closed club.

Writing a review about a club being closed is not necessary but it's a good heads-up

You don't need to write a review to let Founder know a club is closed.

Obviously not everyone deserves the privilege of vetting reviews. The previous system allowed more garbage to be posted but was less biased. This way of vetting reviews will never be perfect.

Having posters accept or reject reviews is beyond fucked up.

Or how about posting a review of a club that is actually still open and communicating the other club's closure through Update Club Details?

^ Because honestly that could have just as easily been me as one of the screen names rejecting the review for lack of details. Some people feel that 4 weeks of VIP just for a report of a club closure is a bit much. I have more mixed feelings, but depending upon the moment I might have rejected that too.

Yeah Rick, i'm going to update the club details. I just wanted to first post why it closed.

It usually takes Founder several days to enter club information including being closed. So the review is the fastest way to get the information out.

I think you tried to help out - and it didn’t work out. It sucks that they didn’t accept Your smoothly worded review telling them the club closed.

Maybe you could have taken a different tact:

Parking: lots of spaces - club closed!
Cover charge: none - club closed!
Drink prices: free - club closed!
Club layout: N/A - club closed!
Dancers working: 0 - club closed!
Club vibe: dead! - club closed!

It leaves little doubt about what to expect -

Let me add. I don't have a problem with a member getting 4 weeks of free VIP for telling us that a club is closed. That is more valuable information than is contained in a lot of reviews. And is usually done by a member that is a good contributor to start with.

I resubmitted the review with 2 minor changes, it's now published and I did add an edit about it closing so all of this is now a moot point.

Agree. I just now approved a very short club has closed review that gave little info except for the fact that it also has closed because of a shooting.

I always have had fast response to update club details. I think I have rejected a closed club update “review” in the past with a note/reason to say they should use club info update for this. If member is a good contributor in future I think I will change my approach. This was a helpful discussion.

I think the point here is that grand1511, hoosierguy2011 and smguy26 were not rejecting a masterpiece review of an open club. Different members here have different feelings about giving credit for closed club notifications and some are fine with it, but others understandably are not. Net-net it is a borderline situation at best.

Duly noted Rick but it's also evidence that the system is flawed but then again it will never be perfect.

^And it would be impossible to really know for sure who wrote the reviews most of the time, which might sway some of us to reject from those members we don’t like or vice versa.
