Could a strip club regular also be a serial killer?

Yeah, this case is scary.

Did computers match up the DNA? Were there other leads they were following to connect him to such old killings?

Cops that do stuff like this are really scary.

Was he ever a suspect?

Why did he stop. Serial killers have a secret which they have to hide. Usually they don't stop, they accelerate until caught.

^^^ yes he was a suspect. Back during the killings the police assumed it was an “inside job” since the killler was so good at covering his tracks. Because of that they never could get enough evidence for a search warrant. He was fired from his job in 1979 for shoplifting. Not sure if the killings stopped right at that time or not.

They got his DNA from an ancestry site where a relative submitted DNA. Whole other article on that out there somewhere.

I heard a major reason he was caught was due to a book written by a woman fascinated by the murders? But the police are taking all the credit?

Londonguy, the wife of Patton Oswalt (an American comedian) wrote a book about the serial killer. She died before the book was finished, but Oswalt got someone to finish the book. The book brought renewed attention to the unsolved crimes.

Ok - at least we know it wasn’t SJG - as he hasn’t set foot in a strip club in over 20 years!
