Founder: How About A Special Section For Attorney's And Legal Discussions

Avatar for san_jose_guy
san_jose_guymoney was invented for handing to women, but buying dances is a chump's game

People on all sides of strip club issues could very well find themselves needing an attorney. Owners, dancers, customers, and even those who run websites which talk about adult topics, could all find themselves needing an attorney.

So attorney's could advertise. And there could be general discussions of related legal and political issues, clearly 1st Amendment protected speech. Without an attorney it is very easy for one's civil rights to get trampled on, and even for their presumption of innocence to get nullified.

Hypothetically (of course) ... Founder, by establishing such an area for legal advice, would admit via implication that he has at least some culpability or exposure to prosecution. And that would be a really fucking stupid thing for him to do.

Also, it's off topic, which is the planet you live on. You want all the things you want to talk about hosted on TUSCL because it's the only corner of the internet that puts up with your bleating stupidity.

Not sure what good would come of this. My dog's pet lemur knows a meerkat who said that his lawyer told him to not discuss legal issues in public. Something about attorney-meerkat privilege and not giving away your strategy in advance of a hearing. The meerkat very well could have been high when he said all that, though. There have been rumors of a drug problem.

People should not discuss ongoing cases or potential cases. But it will help to have the issues discussed in a more general way. People need to know their rights. And public education in this area is very important.

^^^^^^ :) :) :)

We could actually carry attorney ads, as well as have links to all manner of civil rights sites. And there is that civil rights attorney which connects with Atlanta Follies.

I think attorneys buying advertising might be a good idea...and I don't think the site would turn that down.

BUT...having a legal advice section would be pointless. Even now, as soon as someone starts talking about what really goes down at a strip club...once they hit that very low tolerance level...the post gets erased. I think the site, especially given recent events, wants to draw a VERY distinct line that the site is simply a place to find and review experiences at strip clubs/establishments. What you do or is done to you once you find said establishment is not something I think the site wants to be involved with...nor the legal assistance you may need as a result.

Besides, I can't get an attorney to give me a straight answer about pretty much anything ever...so that section would just be 100 questions all receiving the answer: "I can't really answer that...it depends." Maybe have a legal section and when you click on it, there is just a big sentence that reads: "I can't really answer that...it depends."

So people should not talk about specifically what goes on at a given club.

But shifting some of the energy of this site into supporting civil rights education is very important.

My dog's pet lemur's meerkat friend woke up out of his "hibernation" long enough to share what is his lawyer had told him. Apparently, at least if you are a meerkat, lawyers are passing out advice that if you don't want to get into legal trouble, you shouldn't do shit that would get you in trouble. The meerkat still looked a bit off his gourd, though, so I have my doubts as to whether his lawyer actually told him that or it was just the katnip talking.

Our civil rights are a serious political matter. People cannot protect their rights if they don't even understand them.

And if anyone wants to open any kind of as strip club, the first thing they need is a specialist lawyer.

@SJG, I tried waking the meerkat back up to explain your argument, but he bit me. My dog pulled me aside and said that his pet lemur had told him that armchair lawyering was the #1 cause of convictions among the Strepsirrhini suborder.

Do you agree that anyone who wants to start a strip club today, first needs to find a good specialist lawyer?

I wish I could answer with a clear head, but I have lost a fair amount of blood from the meerkat bite. They look pretty innocuous on TV, but once they get worked up about strippers and the legal system, stay clear.

Yes I see the idea of people learning how to advance their rights, and that their rights are political, it gets lots of people worked up.

@SJG, the EMT who came to transport me said he agrees, and that he thinks we should be able to discuss what is and isn't most likely to result in criminal sanction. Then my dog's pet lemur went on a rant about selective enforcement and animal control was called on the meerkat for biting.

Do you agree that if we don't want our strip clubs taken down in metro after metro, that people need to understand the legalities and the politics?

I can imagine SGJ posting a several page discussion about a single topic and someone answering "Just grab her by the pussy"
Then SGJ making a few more pages of posts why that might or might not be a good idea. However to get a more clear answer, you should seek his legal services. Just see the ad called.....

Even keeping adult oriented web sites up has turned into a political and legal issue. Need a place for discussing this, I mean for advertising the fact that we are discussing it. Helps to offset accusations that there is something improper about an adult oriented site.

I mean, they are getting sites off the internet, with no presumption of innocence, no jury of peers. They are just saying that they promote things which are unlawful. This is not right!

We need lawyers, to advertise, and some who have public position statements.

We have lawyers here. Even if they practice in other specialties, they should understand this.
