Nat'l Banks with ATM SC Trip friendly withdrawal limits

doubletime's post about monthly SC fund allocation got me thinking. I was reading through the archives when I realized some SC mongers could withdraw an entire-SC-visit-worth-of-funds in one transaction. And that some casino ATMs depense 50s and 100s. Take Rick's post here. He talks about pulling out $5-600.

Here I wondered how everyone dealt with having a $3-400 daily limit and having to either pull out the funds spread across 2 days or needing to go into the branch and use a teller+photoid. Chase even has a $3K daily limit. Wow. Reads like the norm is $500 and the average is $900+.

Side note - anyone like me? I either have $1,000 on me or $0 - nothing in between. I've been using my credit card for daily purchases even $2 ones. I can better track my spending, I get reward points, and I'm better protected than using a debit card.
If only strippers took credit cards
Actually, my play money all flows through accounts in another bank, and those accounts have my monger email, phone number, and a work address as the main address (just in case they decide to mail something). But, that bank has ATMs that only give 20s, and not as many convenient locations, so I still end up using Wells Fargo ATMs and paying the small fee (very small % when making large withdrawals, and small price to pay to avoid extra driving in ATL traffic)
@shailynn yeah, I'm like you. If I have a big night planned, I'll build up about $1k cash stash. It will stay with me til I spend it all. Rest of time I may have $20 bucks on me. Use plastic or phone apps for everything else.
Generally if I go on a trip I'll just drop in person and take $2000-$3000 out in advance. If you take out $10,000 cash or more, I believe they have to fill out some paper work.
On a related note, my bank will reimburse ATM fees from other banks and does not charge a fee for any ATM. One time I was in a bind and used the ATM at the club. A $10 fee to withdrawal a max if $100. Holy shit, no way that's covered I thought. Then at the end of the month I saw a reimbursement of the $10 fee on my bank statement!
I had one month where I was reimbursed $50 in ATM fees! I don't do that anymore though. I control myself and plan ahead.
I prefer small bills and will actually hoard $5s and $10 since I mostly hit $5/$10 dance clubs, and at times I'll just use the bank's teller and get about $100 in $5s and $10s and the rest in $20s.
Prior to the Wells ATM upgrade some of them would spit out $50s w/o telling you if the withdrawal amount was $300+ and it would piss me off b/c $50s are harder to use in $5 and $10 dance spots - one time I used a different Wells ATM and it spit out $50s w/o telling me and I assumed I'd gotten all $20$ (didn't count it) - I went to the club and after a couple of dances noticed my stash was low and that is when I noticed I had $50s and had been overpaying with them thinking they were $20s - f'ing ay
@twentyfive, that's a good idea for keeping spending money on your person. I like it. I typically pull out $300 cash once a month for groceries, then another $100 2 weeks later for more fresh items. The grocery stores I go to, in order to keep prices low, don't accept CCs -- only cash or personal checks. I don't have a credit card though I only have a debit card and an ATM card. When I used to spend more ITC, I would make out a check to "Payable to CASH" can pull out $500 or so, two $100s and the rest in twenties, fives, and singles. Now I just hit the ATM for $240 and plan to spend $140. I try to keep as much money in the bank as possible so I don't overdraft the account for my bill pay. I still, sadly, live paycheck to paycheck. I have also stayed out of the clubs since last Sept, so that helps.
@jackslash, I figured other banks had higher limits. Thanks for confirming.
@shailynn, more like $200 or $0 on me. But otherwise the same applies. I hope to get a reward card like that at some point. I feel like a sucker for not having one or not having the credit to get one.
@dougster, for my last trip in 2013 I had Amex green, which was some sort of no-present spending limit. I didn't do airlines but it was a driving trip from OH to FL. Prior to that, for business trips, I had to use a combination of a $200 CC limit and a debit card, and keep moving funds twice a day to keep up with hotel and rental car charges. It was tedious and stressful.
That's part of the problem with my current job is that I can't travel really easily without CC and I don't have a passport on top of it. So my boss needs to cover for me and I know it grates on him, since it means more travel and more work and more family stress for him. Ugh. Sometime I feel like a failure at these adult responsibilities. One of the countries my company does business a lot is Germany so I'm missing out of FKK, so that should be my incentive.
@ houjack, that's totally awesome that your bank reimbursed that!
@Che, I try to do that now, after Edward Snowden, I realized how much digital information I was handing to keybank everytime I used the card. Plus I don't have a rewards card. I do try to use my HSA debit card or transfer funds online through HSA account to pay doctor or clinic bills. I also have learned to ask for the "cash discount price" everywhere I do, including the clinic, and I also ask anywhere else I spend cash.
Thanks everyone! I do find all of your financial advise invaluable.

For me, it was my stripper who told me how to go across the street to the bank, and how to get money out of them, even though I had no account papers with me. Everything she said was perfect. She was a bank withdrawal expert.

@Che- I'm curious just who you think "TPTB" are ? I have some sort of idea, just curious who you'd name. Basically folks that are extremely (obscenely) wealthy, occupy the C suite in top corporations, or hold key governmental positions. (Mainly those having a hand on the purse strings.)
I used to be all cash like Che. Then I realized I was throwing away money by not using credit cards. 2-5% discount on pretty much everything I buy. As long as you can pay the cards off each month it's a no-brainer imo.
As a side note, some of these men sound like rent seeking a-holes. Or the inverted representation of the 'crab mentality' found in ghettos (as if reflected about the origin, to borrow the mathematical term).
@Che, do these TPTB, take care of their own? Or is it more of a law of the jungle philosophy?
