Paper trail others might be able to get their hands on.
If records of you being in a SC are no big deal, then no more dangerous that using anywhere else. Well, maybe a little more dangerous. More likely to have shady employees in a SC.
Fees are large, and you lose anonymity. Also when police raid clubs they can take a look at these records and determine interesting people to talk to. Also you wife might get suspicious about the charges. Probably also identity thefts, although there have been so many countless breaches probably everyone's card in the US is already compromised.
You cannot trust the vast majority of clubs, and there is a good chance you will be overcharged when paying with a card. Remaining anonymous is also important.
That reminds, isn't it against the agreements they need to sign with credit card companies to add upcharges to customers paying with credit cards versus cash? Has anyone taken a stand on it and just refused to pay the upcharge?
For all the reasons stated above, I'd never even consider the possibility of using a credit card at such an establishment. Would you trust the people that work at these places with that information? I wouldn't. Use cash and sleep easier.
I think the main reason is there have been many stories on this site where a customer used a CC and there were extra changes put on the card and the club would lie and say all of the charges belonged to him. Especially if he got drunk.
Many PL's also don't have the discipline not to use their CC when a dancer has their dick in their hand promising the world in what she wants to do to make his dick feel good and the cost is more than what he has.
@Dougster the credit card companies lost the ability to prevent upcharge long ago, just go into a gas station and look at gas prices usually one price for cash a higher price using a CC.
I use credit cards all the time in upscale Detroit strip clubs to pay for food and drinks. The advantages include not having to carry as much cash (which can be lost or stolen), having the ability to dispute overcharges, and earning those all important cash back bonuses. I pay the strippers with cash.
I have only had 1 problem in the last 10 years. I was double charged on my credit card bill for drinks at the Flight Club. I brought this to the attention of club management on my next visit, and they issued me a credit.
@jack yeah I use it for exactly what you do. When they bring the receipt I sign it and make sure it's right and I ALWAYS ask for a copy. The only cash I bring is for the dancers.
I don't have a problem using CC at more upscale type clubs for drinks and sometimes food. Also don't have a problem running a tab if I am using a card. Just don't get so shit faced you can't read the final charges and be able to coherently dispute them if there are overcharges. Would never use for a cash advance. And would never use in a dive type club.
For those concerned about paper trail, I have never seen a club name on a CC receipt. It's always some innocuous corporate name that gives you plausible deniability unless some does some research.
Even if you don't care about LE and the paper record, most wives and GF's do meticulously plow through paper records regularly.
And then, strip clubs are known for having credit card fraud problems. People figure out ways to steal from the owner, and from customers too. People figure that strip club patrons won't go to the law. And you do get bouncers working with dancers on extortion and coercion schemes. People have posted about such.
It just works better to go cash only. Easier to keep to a limit.
I don't think anyone is trying to tax deduct strip club expenses. I have asked about this. I sure would not try it unless I got a clear okay from a professional tax preparer.
Having said all of this I must relate that once in San Francisco I did end up going across the street to a bank and getting money, even though I had no checks or bank book with me. My dancer explained that that was her bank to, and she knew exactly how to do it, or so she said. But what she said worked.
I'm not sorry. Better if I were going to be seeing the girl regularly, and she certainly seemed up for that, and absolutely capable.
I feel that eventually a guy reaches the point where he does not walk into a strip club until he is planning to be seeing a girl outside and regularly. Otherwise, what is the point of it? Maybe with a given girl it does not work out. But at least select one with whom you would want that.

I'm kinda surprised that strip-clubs (especially the chain establishments) haven't figured out a way to charge credit-cards for "funny money" that appears as an APP on your I-Phone etc.. The cash-economy of the adult-services sector has always been something of a grey or even black market, of course, we know that. And I think that CASH itself is becoming something that young adults think of as "old style," something they associate with their grand-ma going down to the corner store. They pay with APPs and with their phones. If strip clubs could figure out how to exploit that situation -- they don't even really need to EXPLOIT it, no need to run up high fees and excess tabs; they could just USE it, give the hipsters an APP which pays club-money-tokens for lappers; kids would love it ... think of the changes ... :)
as far as i know no shady shit has taken place with my cc use of a credit card. but i stopped using cc in clubs a few years ago. i stick to cash now. the atm fees especially at spearmint rhino was ridiculously high.

1. Fees charged on top of actual charge for service
2. Fraudulent charges
3. Personal information that stays with the club
Then there is also the audit trail if there are circumstances in the customer's life where that matters.

It's not an upcharge for using a CC, it's a discount for paying in cash.
