Legends in Detroit

New York
I have been a lurker for a while. I am planning to hit Detroit on my way back to NYC end of this month. Of all the places (Bogart's, FC, Henry's, penthouse) I have decided to hit Legends in my small time that I will be in around Detroit. Here's the problem. My plane lands 5pm and my my flight to NYC is at 9:55pm. Legends is in downtown. I am not planning to rent a car not to waste time and to to be quick, I need to find a way to take care of my luggage. Do you guys think can I walk in to legends with a bag and computer and check it in? Is that a stupid idea?

I am not interested in staying in Detroit because I know once I am done in SC I will want to be beamed to NYC.

Am i rushing this? NYC clubs suck I need a change. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm a Detroiter -- I don't think you will have enough time to thoroughly enjoy a trip to Legends. If your flight is on time, you'll be lucky to get to Legends by 6:00. I haven't been to Legends, but if they are cool, the staff may have a spot to hold your stuff. To pull this off, I would suggest one of the clubs by the airport, like Flight Club or Criket, which I go to often. Bogarts is too low-end to have a place to watch your stuff, although I could see you lugging it around to the private dance area! I'm sure some of the Detroit PLs can give you some more guidance. Good luck and enjoy your time in the Motor City.

WOW! That's cutting it too close. I would recommend that you wait another time if you want to go to Legends. As DrStab said, you should go to one of the clubs near the airport(Flight Club, Landing Strip, Criket, etc.). Those clubs are about 10 Minutes from the airport and gives you more time to enjoy the club. Your luggage might be OK, just don't leave anything of value in them if you can help it. Have fun!

Agree with the previous 2 comments. I find it pretty difficult to get anywhere quick in Detroit between 4:00 - 7:00; sometimes running into issues earlier and later than that.

It's possible to get from Metro Airport to downtown Detroit in less than 30 minutes.
However it appears you are going to try to do this during rush hour (plane landing at 5pm). So I wouldn't recommend it. You will be pushed for time, in my opinion.

Also, you would be hitting Legends during the afternoon shift (night shift starts around 7pm, most night shift girls don't show up until between 7 and 8pm and you will be getting to ready to leave by 9pm or before).

In addition, day shift (12pm to 7pm) at Legends is not good. You'll have 6 to 8 girls on shift. They are slow during the daytime. So if you are going for the girls, probably not a good choice. If you are going to just check out the club (it is very nice) then you should have a good time. I recommend their steak dinners and mashed potatoes with zip sauce. It's excellent.

Legends does have a fairly large coat check area though. I'm sure if you wanted to try it, they could store any luggage you might have for a couple hours if you were to try and make it during that time.

You'd probably be better off hitting a club by the airport. Landing Strip probably has the best daytime crowd and it's literally 5 minutes away by cab so you would not be pushed for time there.
Flight club is close too but I've been hearing it's going through some changes and reviews of it lately have not been good.

Bogarts is Bogarts. You can put a lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. I would avoid that dump.

I travel to Detroit all the time for strippers and for work, I75 is all fucked up and traffic can get pretty nasty, even though you're probably going in a different direction than everyone else at 5pm. I'd go to Flight Club, BTs Dearborn or Landing Strip if I had that type of time constraint.

You can probably make it - although you'd be heading in near shift-change and the club might not be at it's but all it takes is one dancer to make the visit worthwhile.

I read a review a while back of someone that wae in your predicament and the club took care of his luggage with no issues (can't remember what club it was) - I imagine clubs understand this kinda stuff happens.

What the hell, YOLO - at least you'll have a good story to tell - do it.

I don't think you have enough time. And Legends is not the best club. Either Landing Strip or Flight Club would fit your needs. They are close--5 to 10 minutes by cab--and they have coat check rooms for your luggage.

I have headed towards downtown many times at 5-6p on I-94 from the airport; sometimes it takes 20 minutes, sometimes over an hour. Although I have had two really nice times at Legends on day shift in the past few months I agree that hitting an airport club considering your timing makes much more sense. FC or LS. Why not just take a bit bigger bag that holds all your stuff and check it all the way through to NYC? Cost a little more but, you'll have less hassle. You'll be compelled to tip more at the clubs anyway. That way you may have time to hit BOTH clubs.

I used to do something like this a lot when I lived outside Atlanta but had to change planes all the time in Atlanta (if you die in the South, you still have to connect through ATL on the way to heaven or hell). My travel agent thought I was nuts for WANTING a 12hr layover in Atlanta.

Anyway, the Atlanta airport had luggage lockers for rent for like $3. I'd throw my stuff in one of those, take the train to Cheetahs for a steak dinner and some dances, walk a couple blocks to nearby massage parlor, and take the train back. I was a MUCH happier passenger on home leg of flight.

Based on that experience, I agree with all the rest who are saying you probably don't have enough time. You don't want to stay in Detroit, but you will want to stay even less if you miss your final flight.

As everyone has said, you will not have time.

Go for Landing Strip, Bogarts, Flight Club, Henry VIII depending on your budget and your requirement for extras.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the responses gentlemen. I might listen to papi and just jerk off in the airport this time. The reason for this is originally my flight is from Minneapolis to NYC. I was going to burn the ticket and buy one to Detroit from Minneapolis and then from Detroit to NYC same night. Latest flight from Detroit to NYC is 9:55pm and like I said earlier I could arrive in Detroit is around 5pm. Not to mention I have to pay $400 for jumping hoops. Not worth it.

On the subject of Detriot, what club is the absolute best for quality? And which one for value?

I'm trying to see if I can hit up at least Penthouse but Landing Strip, Bogarts, Fight Club and Henry I've ever even heard of once.

^^^^ #1 right now for quality is probably Penthouse (Flight Club used to be a close 2nd but recent reports have it declining a lot).

#1 for value would have to be Bogarts. Or maybe Henry VIII. Both are very similar. Very noticeable drop in talent but your money will get you more at these two.

From th little I know Bogarts and H8 are cheap but not necessarily "good value" in that the talent is low - Criket seems to be good value of cost vs talent/club.

I just heard that Legends got shut down for serving alcohol to underage minors. Perhaps someone else can confirm.

^ That sucks if that is true. If so, whoever was working at the door didn't do their job. After all, they are supposed to check ID.
