I wonder where Joggn McEnroe thinks she ranks as a driver.
On a serious note, sad situation, it appears she pulled out in front of someone and a 78 year old man died. I read there was a green light involved, but it wasn't clear to me if the other driver had the green light or Venus did?????
Apparently the other car t-boned her but the other car had the right of way - Venus told the police there was heavy traffic and and the cars in front of her stopped and she got caught unable to move and the other car ran into her
Anyone else find it weird that a professional athlete of her caliber is driving a 7 year old Toyota?
If Venus's story is true I don't see how it is her fault? She entered the intersection when her light was green and had to stop due to traffic in front of her. If the light was green when she entered the intersection she had been sitting the there through the entire yellow light period. If a vehicle is sitting still for an extended period shouldn't the fault be put on the driver that ran into a stationery vehicle?
Add the fact that the other driver said that her light had "just turned green and she couldn't stop in time." That implies she was going way too fast approaching the intersection. What would she have done if the light had stayed red? She obviously wouldn't have been able to stop at the red light. Or did she speed up when the light turned green without paying attention to the fact that there was a vehicle stopped in front of her?
And how did the other driver not see a Sequoia sitting still in the intersection? Toyota Sequoias aren't exactly small
I heard in the local news that Venus wasn't actually cited - the man that died was 78 y/o and his wife was driving so I assume she's old also and perhaps old reflexes played a role - also heard in the news the lady is being represented by a sleazy law firm that advertises on TV all the time urging anyone involved in an accident to call them
BS, Venus is at fault. You're not supposed to block intersections. If you're not positive that you can make it through the intersection because of traffic then you shouldn't enter it.

Sounds like the old people weren't exactly in the right either though.
