Dude was young; good-looking; and rich - yet too dumb or too mentally damaged (perhaps both) to leave the thug-life and thug acquaintances behind.

Thuggery seems to be too sensationalized in today's hip-hop world influencing too-many know-nothing young punks into being wannabe gangstas.

I hardly know anything about football, but like @Papi said, the guy seemed to have absolutely everything going for him. Maybe the product of really bad parenting. Think I read that he lost his father at an early age.

From what I've heard he came from a pretty bad background

Aaron Hernandez grew up in Bristol, home of ESPN and lived in a single family home with two parents until his father died when he was 16. He was a wanna be who sought out the life after he went to college.

I guess he just could not live with the Patriot cheating!
