How many of the "Top 100" Clubs have you been to and agree with the rating

Just for information I recently reviewed the "Top10" and then "The Top 100" on this site. I found I had been in many of the clubs listed and found most of the rating laughable.
While I have never been to any of the TJ bars/brothels I have no problem with the rating because reading the reviews most that travel to them give the same type of reviews. Moving on down the list there are club that are listed in areas where I have club toured and places I have actually been in and they are dumps with frighteningly Fugly dancers. Like Harem in Dayton OH, GO GO Rama in NJ or Hip Hugger in Kokomo IN(this place redefines dump)
I have been in all three of these at one time, will never return and reading recent reviews they are worse now than when I foolishly stopped in.
Evidently locals that only go there review the place over and over giving high marks or the club posts high mark reviews.
How many periodically review the top club list just to see how many you agree with.

Although reviews and ratings are preferable to no information at all, you have to take them with a grain of salt because there usually isn't enough info to put things into proper context. For example, what type of experience does the club offer versus what type of experience are you the club goer seeking? If you're dealing with a high end club, does the reviewer have the cash to pay for the best experience the club offers? Something to keep in mind also, is that locals and tourists don't receive the same experiences. Locals know when the best dancers work. They know what types of dances are offered by individual dancers. And locals tend to be given preferential treatment, and higher mileage dances.

When I lived in Vegas, I often disagreed with the reviews and the rankings. It's like the average person never stops to think that people actually live and work in Vegas. I saw the same dancers for years, so as hard as it might be to believe, yeah, Las Vegas dancers actually have their regulars too.

Regarding Austin clubs, the Palazio in south Austin is usually ranked #3 or #4 overall which I just can't accept. Yeah, there are hot girls there, but not that many, and even the hot ones just aren't that hot. Then there's the complete lack of privacy, even in the cabanas. How this club has such a high rating, I just can't imagine. Perfect 10 on Bratton Lane in north Austin is a much better club, but it's usually ranked #89 or #90. The club is larger, with more stages, tons of girls, and lots of options for lap dances, including group VIP rooms and private cubicles. My only explanation is that perhaps the Palazio is more well known and more accessible to tourists. You can often find the same dancers at both the Palazio and P10, except that at P10 you'll get better dances at more reasonable prices.

the way the top 10 and top 100 are determined is a mystery to me.

Five of them over the years, and not one did I agree with the rating.

w.r.t. the ratings I assume Founder uses some kind of off-the-shelf computer program/software which probably inputs the 4 categories (Dancers; Value, Atmosphere, Overall) and perhaps some categories are weighted more than others.

Thus it's basically far from perfect - just one example is Angels in Kalamazoo, MI, this club is #26 yet Penthouse Detroit did not even make the top-100 - with different areas/cities differing so much in many ways, a national ranking is gonna be pretty-off the mark w.r.t. many of the clubs.

Perhaps a more accurate rating would be achievable on a per city basis but the list would need to include the suburbs near that city; sorta like a regional rating (e.g. South FL vs only Miami) - right now one can list clubs by rating on a per city basis but this list will often exclude good clubs nearby but not in that particular city.

I look once in awhile just for laughs. The most talked about club on TUSCL, Follies, isn't even in the top 10. Something wrong there.

I've been to 4 of current Top 5, and 5 of the current Top 10. I wouldn't have expected to see my top U.S. club up there, but surprisingly it is. The clubs that I've seen on the list are legit, including Palazio.

I wouldn't have rated Palazio that high, but won't quibble with it being there. It's a nice looking club, and the girls on shift the weeknight I was there were all top shelf. I've been to Vegas, so I'm not saying they are Vegas hot but that's not a realistic standard for a typical club. Most of the clubs in Vegas don't have model hot girls everywhere you look. The dancer I spent most of my time with could dance in Vegas, she was an Austin 10 and a Vegas 9. She also bought me a few shots and was fun. I stopped going to clubs mostly because it wasn't fun anymore.

If a stripper is hot and knows how to be sexy, she could quote news stories for conversation and still make money. A lot of them act that way. Boring. When we got around to dancing, she was intense and it was about as good as a straight up lapdance gets. No upsell. We talked about hitting the town since it was near closing time, but that's not really my thing. I rated Palazio pretty highly because the place had some life to it and the visit is one that stood out. Most of clubs I saw in Austin were like restaurants with tits.

I'm not telling guys how to rate clubs. I've had ludicrous amounts of fun in clubs, and good times are why most of us are here talking about them. I'm just saying you don't have to stick your goods in every other dancer for a place to be a great club.

Hmm...I've gone to Tootsies, E11 (same visit as Papi, although I may try it again at some point), Baby Dolls, Follies, Scarlett's, and IR.

Tootsies deserves its ranking. Can't say on E11. Baby Dolls...I can probably name 12 clubs I'd rather go to. It's not bad, though: I'd say top 35. Follies, as many will tell you, should be right behind the TJ clubs. Scarlett's is about right, and IR is about to fall off the list anyway thanks to the new owner.

I don't know what kind of algorithms Founder uses, but the general advice I've learned is to see which clubs have the largest number of recent reviews in a certain area.

I check the top 100 occasionally to see where clubs I've visited rank, but that's really about it now.

Take a look at the number of reviews for the top 10. Almost 2,000 for one of the clubs, and another has only 50 lifetime reviews.

The top 10 on this site changes constantly. I don't pay attention to the over all ratings, only recent reviews which are written by someone who knows a bit about strip clubs.

I tend to put more weight w.r.t reviewers that have a good # of reviews and better yet have reviewed a good-# of different clubs - although sometimes a person w/ just one review writes a very-good review and a person w/ dozens of reviews writes poor-ones; but usually those w/ multiple clubs reviewed are better reviewers.

If you've had a lot of experience with lots of different clubs, that's usually a plus. I myself am mostly familiar with the Las Vegas clubs, but I try to ignore that experience when reviewing Texas clubs because that was a different time, a different place and a different me. But I think another factor that should be considered is how much background knowledge goes into the review. For example, when I review a club, my review is often based upon 3 or 4 or even more visits, though I may not spell that out. That's very different from a tourist who flies into town, hits a club once on a Wed afternoon on a whirlwind tour of a dozen clubs and then flies back out.

At best, the ratings are only good for comparing within the same metro area, and even then the ratings have their flaws. I find that looking at the total number of review for a club is also an insightful indicator.

Also (getting OT), I firmly believe (in generally) that being a regular or not strongly influences both one's option in a club and one's perception of a club. So, regardless of the ratings, you have to 'digest' the reviews and make a judgment call as to what you can expect as a first time visitor.

I came up with 14 clubs that I have been to, and most would not make my top ten. We discuss this often, and clearly we all have different criteria, so it is impossible to come up with a list that will fit us all. I went to the #4 club in Austin, Palazio (sp?) and I really did not enjoy it at all. I think I would enjoy the Tijuana clubs, but have not been there. I really like Follies and Wacko's (pre recent raid), so you can figure out my criteria.

At least 10 of them, I'm sure, I tend to agree with most of the ratings. As shadowcat notes, Follies not being in the top ten is a travesty.

I found the comment of Wallanon most interesting. He is the reason that Palazio is rated so high, but he didn't think it was worthy of the high rating. The reviews are weighted by the number of reviews that the reviewer has. So, first time reviews are weighted as almost a non-factor in the ratings but someone with 200 plus reviews like Wallanon basically set the rating for that club.

^^^ Just looking at the ratings impact when new reviews come. You can do the math to comfirm if you are bored.
I have been to 25 of the overall top 102.

@mjx01 I haven't been to but 3 of the top 100 clubs, so I really have no opinion, but being a regular anyplace even a coffee shop will always get you preferential treatment, that is why you become a regular.

To make the top 10(0) lists, clubs need a certain number of reviews from a certain number of reviewers over a certain period of time. I'd tell you the numbers, but I'm not certain what they are :)

I look at it more as a Hall of Fame for clubs than a current top 100.

E.g., everyone seems to agree that Baby Dolls Dallas used to be good 2 or 3 years ago. I wouldn't rate it as top even in Dallas. Also, there are some areas noted for having had their scenes significantly change, e.g., Greenville, SC, but still rate in the top 100 nationwide on the list.

I think it would be valuable to have a top 100 list based only on reviews in the past 6 or 12 months.

a quick count says i have been to 10.
there are too many factors and variables to have a definitive top 100 list. not every reviewer is a mileage hound.

that said, I have been to
baby dolls dallas
follies
cheetah Atlanta
cheerleaders Pittsburgh
silver slipper saloon
sapphire Vegas
shotgun willies
diamond cabaret and steakhouse
brads indianapolis
palomino Vegas(currently #100 although most top 100 clubs are mainstays, just change positions)

I agree on all but silver slipper saloon and sapphire. sapphire is only a top 100 if money is no object, which it shouldn't be for anyone here since we're all in the 250k club. but still the dancers aren't any better looking than anywhere else, there's just more. even cheetah being an air dance club has other qualities that make it worthwhile.

Let's see, where have I been and do I agree with the rank:

Tootsie's, and I agree.

Follies, and I agree

Christies Cabaret, Tempe - agree

Admiral Theater - agree

Inner Room Cabaret - Disagree, too high

I've also been to clubs that uses to be top 10, but aren't anymore, including Mons Venus and Solid Gold Oakland Park, and I believe both deserved their spot in the top 10

E11EVEN is now number 4 overall. I'm not sure how a low value expensive club makes it to the top 5.

I've been to 10 of the top 102, and generally agree with the ratings, but not all. If I know I'm going to certain city, I read the reviews of clubs in the area, then try as many of the better reviewed clubs as time permits.

I haven't even commented on the San Antonio Men's Club yet. How in the hell does a club where the girls wear latex paint over their nipples/areaolas make it into the top 10? WTF?
