Flashers was shut down Wednesday for code violations.
The city of Sandy Springs has shut down a strip club after fire inspectors said they found numerous “life and safety” violations.
The fire marshal noted numerous violations at Flashers Bar, which is located at 6420 Roswell Road, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Flashers was one of three adult entertainment businesses raided Thursday by police conducting compliance checks.
The business was closed in part because doors couldn’t open easily and exits were not properly marked. Also, flammable materials were found throughout the building.
City spokeswoman Sharon Kraun said Flashers had no sprinkler system in place, and serious electrical hazards constituted an imminent threat to human life.
“You don’t have to look too deeply in national headlines for examples of the types of injuries and deaths that could occur should a fire erupt,” Kraun said.
Club attorney Louis Levenson told Channel 2 the owner had hired a licensed contractor to complete the necessary repairs.
“I recognize this is not an ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ style business and I recognize that there was a raid and I recognize that some dancers have been charged,” Leveson said. “What is troubling is that I know of no other business in Sandy Springs summarily shut down without the opportunity to cure code violations or electrical violations.”
Kraun said Flashers can apply to open again for business after the code violations are fixed and the club passes inspection.

"shailynn died doing what he loves best, banging strippers and drinking."
Considering it was in affluent section of town, it is text book case on how to fuck up a can't fail business.
The sprinklers thing. If you own a place are you required to make changes as the code changes?
I personally (Pink Pony) would love to see and owner flip them off and walk away abandoning the property. Watch them try to sale a build that doesn't meet code. But I also recognise that would be pissing away a lot of money.
Living in Atlanta since the big snow storm and hurricane. I have realized that if something BIG happens, All of us are not getting out and we are not going to be buying gas on the way out. So if you can make it to your nearest strip club and get that last dance in, then you die happy.
My guess is the city got tired of messing with Mario, the owner, and just shut them down. Google Mario Freese and see what all comes up. He was shooting a porn in one of the neighborhoods a few years ago. He has several lawsuits pending about the club. He is just a cranky old pervert who wants to give the system the finger but does not have the juice to do it
