Would You Move to Access Better Strip Clubs?

They never tell you what you need to know.
I've always often debated this. I have no reason to leave where I live now (wifey has a good job, so do I - and they can't be easily replaceed) but if I did, I would try to go somewhere where clubs were good rather than not.

If you had the opportunity to move and was allowed to somewhat choose where, would the club quality be a big factor in your location decision?

this is tricky for me to answer

But basically I would move but only because I'm in Virginia where clubs are NOTORIOUSLY bad

however, if I was in an area where the clubs were decent.....I probably wouldn't make the move

But at my current location, yes I certainly would move, and you would too ;-)

Clubs? No. I would move for a better job with better pay and just travel as needed. Though I would not likely move to an area that had NO clubs. No clubs is far worse (IMO) than terrible clubs. YMMV.

Nah, just get a job where you travel or plan trips to do other things in areas where they're good. Although I will admit living where they're good is much better than not.

I moved a number of times for job reasons, but I never considered strip clubs in my decision. Now I'm retired and living in the Detroit area, and I could not find a much better strip club city. If I decided to move to a better climate, I would want a city where the clubs are good. Miami?

Used to be driven 100% by career goals. These days I'm into beautiful open space and clean air for cycling and other outdoor activities, with an easy commute into the city for more civilization. Being near a club would probably rank last in any decision to move.

Strip clubs would be one factor in me deciding where to move. But still, I wouldn't move to someplace cold and depressing just for great strip clubs. Sorry Detroit.

The job would decide the location; the clubs are absolutely a factor in vacation or golf buddy trips. Why we no longer go to Myrtle Beach and most of our golf trips are to Detroit-Windsor, Tampa or Niagara Falls.

No. But any where I moved couldn't possibly have worse clubs than where I live, which is why I've only been to a local club one time. I have to travel, but I don't mind because I don't think I'd like to run into anyone I know at a local club.

No.

Unless you're lucky enough to be a career field that you can jump jobs easily, why would anyone consider this? In general you need to have a good job first, then comes the strip clubs

Not to hijack the thread - but this reminds me of the dilemma the U.S. is facing regarding our move to a service based economy. If we lose all of our manufacturing jobs, what's the point of having services we can't afford?

That's my point in a round about fashion I was trying to make about moving.

Back in 1987 While living in So. Cal I was faced with a choice. Move to Atlanta for $1K a month more or stay in Calif and be without a job. Duh! Strip clubs had nothing to do with my decision.

I once had a TUSCL newbie PM me asking the same question and I advised him to live where the money is and travel for strip clubbing.

Let's put it this way - if you had no other influences then yes I would put in inside my list of considerations.

I have a few friends that can choose to live anywhere they want because their job does not limit them. If I were one of those guys then yes I would consider strip club quality when choosing a city, but it would be way down on this list. Say, after weather, taxes, housing costs, entertainment, etc etc etc.

I'm not a big fan of the 4 hr drive that I make to get to the COI, but it's doable. Not worth uprooting to live closer.

Wow, I thought I was hooked, but I guess not so much. I enjoy good strip clubs, but am not going to relocate because of that. There are many other factors more important to me, family, climate, economy, etc. I will find a way to get to good strip clubs. I actually prefer that my favorite clubs are not where I live. Much less likely to be recognized by someone who you don't want to recognize.

I am.thinking about this too. Living in Virginia means no entertainment. I drive to Baltimore or Philly to visit stripclubs . I can't drive frequently . My wife does not work and living in Northern Virginia is expensive. So I am looking to move either to Philly or Baltimore so that I can save money on gas, time and energy. I can visit stripclubs on the way back home or during lunch time.LOL.

I would give strip clubbing zero consideration when we decide to move. Would never relocate to be closer to prostitutes.

Actually moved once (when younger and hopped from apartment to apartment) further away from one just to slow down and pace myself. Found myself going to a certain one just about every night (was walking distance down street), found that if I had to drive didn't go as much (or drink as much).

A while back I started a thread about one's decision of where to live once retired and if one would specifically choose an area b/c of its good SC scene - most people answered no that the area they would choose to retire would not have anything to do w/ SCs - and I posted yes that it would be at the top of my list.

As of now I would not want to live in wn area w/ bad SCs but also would not like to live in an area I did not like thus as for now if I had to choose b/w 2 similar areas where I could see myself living I'd def choose the one that had the best SC scene to my liking.

No I prefer to travel to visit that way I never run into a dancer outside.
I do not do the outside the club favorites meeting/partying and seldom do OTC. When I do it is for OTC at a hotel(always neutral ground) not socializing.
I prefer the no strings on either side approach.

Here I was worried I would be the only one to say, no. (mainly because I use the clubs for the primary, legal reason).

For me, having a club, even an air dancing club, is a good "acid test" (litmus test) for an area that isn't too far one way (ew, immoral) or the other way (ew, women are degraded). Plus I do like to live within an easy commute to a city for other infrastructure (arts, entertainment, university education, public transportation, parks, recreation, etc.).

No titty bars probably means the place is too uptight for me or way too isolated for me.

Yes and no. Living in the Detroit area, jobs were plentiful, I made good money and the club situation became superb, so I had no reason to move. Yes, if I was offered a substantial raise and the club atmosphere was good, I'd have moved. I'm single, no woman controls me.

I would if I were single, but that's also because I'm built for a cooler climate than SW FL. Having said that, I'm 2 hours from Tampa and 2.5 hrs from Miami, and travel to each for work; so that works for me.

I wouldn't move just for the club but I'm thinking of relocating to FLA in the near future and jacksonville area to be specific. And considering they are not a good area for SC's does have me considering other places in the sunshine state.

After my second trip to tj last year, I gave brief consideration to the notion of moving to San Diego. The weather is not bad, I could start attending comic-con again, and Hong Kong every other weekend. Shit might kill me.

no. I can't deal with cities and wouldn't give up my job for better entertainment. However, if for some reason I had to find another job... clubbing option might become a factor if all other things equal.

Jacksonville is a big city and has lots of SCs and about 4 or 5 that are pretty-well liked - thus it's not a great area but not terrible either

Maybe you guys don't agree, but I still think air beats nothing at all. I mean if you are already there (in some area for a job), you would visit a club, even if the only clubs were air dances or very low mileage? I know I would still go."life hands you lemons, you made lemonade, right?"

No?

Now that SCing is a hobby of mine I'd consider it, but it would be third to nearest casinos. First would be the job and kids. I'd have to have something that had access to child services nearby my job then would come the others I mentioned. If anything id at least make sure the quality was same or better than what I'm used to and that it's less than an hour away.

Ch3II-

That's what's pretty awesome about Detroit. Top notch strip clubs where anything goes, and casinos! Definitely adds some variety to my stays, and by wild luck I'm easily > 50% on winning when I hit MGM. Have had multiple visits to Detroit where my MGM winnings have paid for my whole visit.

Only bad thing I guess is it takes me about 20-30 minutes to get from my hotel in one of the burbs to everywhere, but no big deal.

Hell no, nor would they have any impact on where I travel for anything. Barring perhaps VA and DC, lemons can be turned into lemonade almost anywhere, especially for one who does OTC.

@jacklash: You should check out Pasco County FL. Fun clubs, great weather in the winter and access to beaches, yet MUCH cheaper than Miami. Given what I experienced in Miami some years back and what I have been reading over the years, I'm starting to believe that Miami is over-hyped as a strip club mecca. Sure fun is widely available, but it isn't cheap.

No, I would never move somewhere *because* of its strip clubs. However, I also wouldn't want to move to a place with air dance palaces only or no strip clubs at all. If I ever retire and move, my new home will have to have actual strip clubs with two-way contact.

MrDeuce is right, Orlando and Chicago are out. Unless Chicago has changed since I left. I'm also unsure of a place like Tampa with so many boozeless clubs. Finally, I've had my fill of big cities, traffic gridlock, and rampant crime. Someplace like here, where I can drive over to Miami for a night or weekend is about perfect.

When I retired, I considered moving to Vegas, and one reason, not the top 1 2 or 3, was the strip club scene. Wisely stayed in OH and visit Vegas 4 times a year.

I wouldn't move just for strip clubs or I would have moved already. Several factors come into play, job expectations, pay, general quality of life. Strip clubs would be one of those. I once passed up a job offer because it was out in the boon docks and I thought as a single guy, I wouldn't be happy there. Someone told me if the local small Walmart didn't have what you wanted, then you must not need it. Nope, too small an area. If larger cities are within an hour by car and all your local necessities are close, ok.

I might move if I found a better job and other factors didn't detract from that or make it too difficult to move. If there were decent strip clubs in an area that would be very nice. However I am aware the situation with strip clubs can change overnight if a new law passes or there is a crackdown that manages to change everything. Strip club workers get fired and it's not fun to visit anymore. The city, county, government or some soliticor with a beef to grind can change everything overnight. I'm not planning on changing my job, house, etc just because of some soliticor on a rampage. Now I might move if my job sucks, pay isn't going anywhere and I feel restricted and keep getting asked or expected to work long hours for no extra reward and if I have no one in the area tying me down.

I've thought it would probably pay for me to find another job but my current options have worked out ok for the time being. I see traffic is a lot worse in the larger cities. I only live 7 miles from work and it only takes 15 to 20 minutes typically to get there even during busy times. Some guys drive 50 to 60 minutes from Greenville every day twice a day. I would hate doing that just to live in a larger city near what used to be better strip clubs.
