"Basically they are violating the girls' rights," she explains. "They qualify you as an independent contractor, but they treat you as an employee, and they switch it kind of back and forth to whatever is beneficial to them."

This is why strip clubs keep losing these lawsuits.

It's time for the strip clubs to starting abiding by the law.

Dancers should be paid an hourly wage
Federal, state, local taxes will be withheld
Social security and Medicare will be withheld
Dancers must work regular assigned shifts
    Drug testing will be implemented
    Two weeks of paid vacation

I think we would be better off if these dancers were treated as independent contractors fairly and in all ways. Instead of nickel and diming the dancers with fees and fines for this and for that, charge them whatever is needed to make the establishment profitable and allow the dancers to perform whatever services they wish at whatever fees they deem fair. Let them keep all of what they collect. Let them earn their keep. Let the market decide what their time should cost.

You ugly, you earn less. You give a shitty dance, you earn less. You unpleasant, you earn less.

By only allowing dancer to keep half what she earns, we get half-assed service.
