Adult film actress Amber Rayne died of a cocaine overdose this spring in her Los Angeles home, coroner’s officials confirmed on Friday.
The adult film performer’s April 2 death in her Sun Valley residence was also determined to be an accident, according to Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Sad - didn't read the whole article so IDK how old she was but she seemed fairly young - yeah - I assume most hard drugs have the potential to take your life unexpectedly.
I rarely watch porn any more, so I can't say I knew who was. So I read her bio.
She was 31. A cancer survivor. She studied theater arts at Cal State. And did some main stream work before entering porn. I won't judge her for doing porn -- that would be very hypocritical of me, but her drug overdose is sad.
Did she start using drugs to support her drug habit or did her drug use result from doing porn? I once had an acquaintance tell me he stopped watching porn because of the high correlation between porn actors and drug use.
Yeah - I'm no expert on porn; but I do get the sense it may much higher than the population avg w.r.t. substance abuse.
Granted I know I'm being stereotypical, but drug usage in porn (like stripping and other sex work) makes way too much since in two ways:
Girls and guys with preexisting drug habits needing a way to finance it and if they have the looks for it, porn is a way to get money without having to have any discernible skills or having to be to realiable like an actual job would require.
People going into porn aren't necessarily the most in intelligent and are often young and potentially came from a broken family or checkered past. Young, unintelligent people (in many cases without a reliable familial support structure) stumbling upon a decent amount of money early on with little guidance is a perfect storm of drug use waiting to happen.
