  Take from the millionaire or billionaire CEO's and Bill Gates, etc and give to the poor sounds great until politicians get involved and anyone who has saved money all their life for a retirement gets screwed over. After politicians get involved or if we become a socialist country like Venezuela then food, power, utilities, and other things get rationed and there is less for everyone. It didn't work there but so far borrowing trillions of dollars and not paying it back except mainly interest makes all the democrats think everything is going great. If others thought we were never going to pay it back, it would not be great here at all.

  In Europe and Japan, you loan someone money and pay them for it. People paying others to hold their money with negative rates. I heard from a genius speaking about it that those foreign central banks haven't figured out that it does not get people to spend more. It does the opposite and increases deflation because people think they need to save a lot more if they can't rely on getting paid a certain interest rate during retirement anymore.
  
  Example, save a million and live off 4% a year or 40k per year in retirement. Interest rate goes negative, now they need to save 2 or 3 times more to have enough for retirement.
  
  Our central bank and most just use the market rate for 3 month treasuries to adjust their rates though. Used to not even be a Fed or central bank many years ago.

  The flaw in any analysis that shows Big Government is the answer is assuming
  - People will work just as hard if income taxes are 0% or 99%
  - Businesses won't move or close or stop hiring if taxes are raised or regulations are imposed.
  - Smart people in government can design clever ways to get around the laws of economics.
  - Specifically, if the government prints enough money, and spreads it around, we can avoid economic downturns.
