It's most likely because you know guys have the same friends on your friends list, you both like something like a club or something....or you both visited a website frequently enough that it assumed you may know that provider. Algorithms my friend. Learn the computer world to fight the next battle.

Is Facebook app on your phone?

If Facebook app is on your phone and it is also on her phone, and your phone are close during lapdance, then the Facebook will trigger Bluetooth communication between phone thus to trigger "Do you know?" prompt later on. Facebook probably recording motion sensor on phone as well and perhaps audio, maybe even turn on camera occasion.

    Hence, it is evil

Facebook has great algorithms for finding connections between people. Some of the connections are obvious - but others can be frightening! There is definitely a connection - and you might not be fully aware it's there - it's most likely through friends -

If you have her phone number or email in your phone (or in any of your email accounts, if you've given any apps permission to look at your email contacts), **OR** if she has YOUR phone number or email in her phone, facebook will assume you know each other.

Besides your contacts, check location history and Web searches. If you are always at the same clubs, bars and hotels at the same time, I believe FB will make a connection . Also checkins to FB and any linked social apps like yelp will increase the odds. Do you ever search Google for info about them?

Here's my concern. I've had products that I've searched for at work appear on my phone in facebook ads.

I don't want the reverse to happen. Things I view in the privacy of my phone - like TUSCL - I don't want them to appear on my work PC

You will get lots of recommendations for friends of your friends. But watch out. Many strippers are just plain freaky.

Bad computer OPSEC will get you every time. Over on SW some cam girls have been outed to family and friends via Facebook (and probably Twitter and Google). Ideally you should use separate accounts and separate computers for activity you don't want mixed. Poor OPSEC will out you every time.

Always, always, always log out of your Facebook app completely. Your desktop, your tablet, your phone. You don't need to know someone from high school who you weren't even friends with updates their status. Always log out completely and CLOSE the app.

Yes, Facebook, google, and apple track everything

Juice needs a burner phone that isn't associated with his facebook, then the girls will just see more KFC ads and no juice FB profile. Wait juice's fb page could be the same as KFC.

Every website has a Facebook share button. With that share button, Facebook knows every site you visit with cookies and http referrer url from the random page on the internet with a share button.

I always log out of Facebook if I remember and never use my work computer to visit Facebook or this site or any site that would violate company policy. I only use my home computer or personal iPad to visit Facebook and this site. I like to separate work versus personal devices.
