Despite the headline, this shooting seems to have occurred outside the Penthouse Lounge, not the Penthouse strip club. I believe the Penthouse Lounge is a night club in a mostly black area of Detroit. I have not been there, and so I don't know if it has strippers. But I think not.
If it's not a strip club, does it qualify as a 2AMer?

Close enough for a 2AMer. Damn, that's some bad publicity for the real Penthouse Club because most people won't be able to tell the difference.

^^^ I am only ever there on a Friday or Saturday night. It's always crowded those nights and hard to get the attention of the mid to higher end dancers during those times. It's still fun and always has a party vibe.
Those of us who live in the area won't mistake the two. Up until that shooting I doubt many people knew of this club (been at that location for a while under various names).
Would this attract more customers or scare them off?
It appears that the Playboy Lounge may have strippers. But it is not the famous Playboy Club on 8 Mile Road. Take a look at the picture of the establishment:
