LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man who was shot outside a Lexington strip club has died from his injuries.
Lexington Police got a report of a gunshot victim at 2:45 Friday morning from KentuckyOne Health - Saint Joseph East.
A short time later, someone called police to say that a few minutes earlier he heard shots being fired in the Richmond Road area around Camelot East.
Police went to the adult establishment. They say that is where the victim was shot.
The victim, who had several gunshot wounds, was transported from Saint Joe East to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Investigators say he was shot twice in the chest and once in the leg. WKYT spoke with Fayette County coroner Gary Ginn. He says the victim, 23-year old Laroz Lee Mitchell, died at UK Hospital. This is Lexington's 5th homicide in 2016.
Police are reviewing surveillance at Camelot East in hopes of getting information on the shooter or shooters. Police say there were no witnesses to the crime.
