I'd frankly be a LOT more concerned that he brought his son back drunk at 18! Regardless of how you might feel about consuming alcohol at that age, the fact that the father not only condoned but facilitated and illegal act can't be a good thing.
@ATACdawg, I think that the legal age for drinking in Jamaica is 18. So the father neither condoned, nor facilitated any illegal act (in so far as buying his son drinks).
Whether dad facilitated "extras" for his son is a different matter!
I was 16 and a minister actually asked me if I wanted us to go into the Paper Doll Lounge in Charlotte as we passed by. I was too embarrassed to say "yes".

I agree that being very drunk is far worse than taking his son to a club. I hope the son drove home.
