Voted at 8:15AM in downtown Detroit. Line took 45 minutes. Ran over a manhole cover on the Freeway going to work and blew the right front tire. Road service, new tire, home late, watched the returns. Voted for Kerry. What a day.
Yes, at about 2:30, so there wasn't much of a line. I just love the mentality of Nebraska people. They all complain about how Iowa gets all the money for casinos and then they vote to deny Nebraska casinos. Then again, it could be the Omaha vs. Lincoln vs. the rest of the state mentality at work again.
I voted somewhere around 5 to 5:30 PM after work. There were only a few people ahead of me. I heard over 165 people were in line when the voting area opened up at 7 AM. It was far better in the evening for me.
I voted against the mini bottles in South Carolina. Something doesn't seem right about SC being the only state out of 50 requiring their use. I figure if 49 other states are better off without them, we can do without them too. I don't usually drink liquor anyway though.
I voted about 9:30 am and had almost no wait, I think there were 4 people in line ahead of me. The long waits were generally in the evening. After voting I went to see my favorite to celebrate. She had also voted earlier. We had a great time as usual.
Another question, how long was your wait? I feel lucky. My wait was only about 4 minutes, barely enough time to read the electronic voting pamphlet before it was time to sign my name on the forms stating that I voted. I heard of others in my state waiting over an hour.
