Phoenix

I'm moving to Phoenix in August for a new career opportunity. I need some Intel on Phoenix.

First of all is the heat unbearable there? How do you Phoenix residents deal with the heat? I won't have a car when I get there, so it will be public transportation there for awhile. I hear there are a bunch of scorpions and snakes there, that kind of grosses me out a little.

Second, on to the strip clubs. I can tell Hi-Liter will be my kind of club. There's no diversity at BSC, so I probably won't go there too often. Any other Phoenix clubs I should look out for? I hear Christie's isn't terrible.

Thanks

Snakes and scorpions are not nearly as dangerous as strippers!

yes

their skin becomes all leather like before they get skin cancer and die a premature death

It's been a while, but yes, the heat will fry your brain without shelter. And I think dudes still drive around with rifle racks in their trucks.

maybe you can try to coax san_jose_guy out of his mother’s basement and take him with you.

imagine that, a racist retard from the silicon valley in the land on skin cancer and rifle racks

I don't live in Phoenix but I travel there often. I love the town. But the heat In the summer is oppressive especially for somebody used to portland weather. I would not want to be without a car there in summer. The rest of the year the weather is awesome.

Hi Liter is the best club. I like Christies too but it's hit or miss. And the girls are very white which I don't think is your thing. Christies is also very upscale and expensive.

A huge percentage of houses in the Phoenix suburbs have swimming pools. And there's a reason giant numbers of 'Zonies flee to San Diego on the weekends for vacation. Summer in Arizona SUCKS. You're right that the girls should have less clothing, although they may be going from A/C to A/C to A/C.

At least you shouldn't have to worry about sunburns!

Snakes tend not to be very social animals; most fear people and most are active at night. If you're not the type to go hiking and live in the city (which I'm guessing you will if you want to live near a bus line), I wouldn't stress them too much. I definitely hate scorpions, and those fuckers can hide almost anywhere.

Ranukam, make sure you wear your 3 piece suit when running "the system" in the summer heat. I saw rickyboy do it last year and I learned so much on how to pull loose sluts away for OTC. It's all about the suit, and grease those bouncers. Hope to see u at the hi liter in your suit!

i have been through there several times and what I remember is snow on the ground and frost on the windshield at 6am and 100 degrees at noon. All kinds of fucked up weather. At least it's a dry heat and not 100% humidity like it is here in the SE

How about the quality of the civilians? People say Phoenix is one of the best cities for hot girls.

There are over 3 million people in the Phoenix area. And there are plenty of hot civilian chicks just about everywhere.

The heat is intense and public transportation is spotting unless you live in downtown or near ASU. HiLiter for consistent extras. Lots of newbies from other clubs during summer, so can be a swing and a miss with them. They hit HL during summer since it is the busiest with the locals.
Bourbon Street always has hot co-eds but extras few and far between. Christies in Phoenix has gone downhill fast in last few years, as they cater to the out of towner not expecting repeat trips.
As far a hot civies, we have ASU which is always ranked in the top 10 party schools in the country.
Happy hunting and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!!!!!!!!! Whether you feel thirsty or not. It may be a dry heat but so is a microwave. Like living on the face of the sun in summer.

I've been out west in the dry heat. I thought 118 didn't feel nearly as bad as 95 degrees here with high humidity.
I tend to sweat alot though and dry heat provides a lot of cooling for someone who sweats a lot. Not so much here in the southern US where you just end up soaking wet and still very hot.

Phoenix is a great place to live even in the summer. Add AMP's and escorts to Phx's strip clubs and it is like a pussy fiesta. The heat is rough but you are only an hours drive from cool lakes, rivers, and forest country. Snakes and insects should not be a worry.

But, a word of warning, you will probably be miserable without your own ride. Highly recommend getting a vehicle before you relocate.

Dry heat my ass. When it gets over 100 degrees anywhere it's too damn hot but you will become acclimated to it. My first summer in Atlanta back in '87, I thought I was gonna die my first summer here from the humidity but in still kicking. I don't like it any better now but now I am used to it.

Yeah I'll be working/going to school in Downtown Phoenix, so I'm looking for apartments downtown that aren't torn down that's in a safe area and not too expensive. Somewhere in the 600 dollar to 800 dollar range. Any suggestions? That is a reason why it will be easier in the beginning for me to do public transportation.

@sharkhunter- that's good to know. I didn't know it felt worse in Miami and other places in the South in Summer than Phoenix. I might have it bad, but other people have it worse.

I read that people in Phoenix during the summer don't keep their windows open at night, because they don't want scorpions getting in. To me a scorpion is a like a freaking pet, how do you kill those fuckers?

You step on them fast and hard. Those damn things like to hide and they can climb walls too.

Western heat is nothing like SE heat with humidity. I would take 100 degree desert heat any day over an 80 degree 100% humidity day in the SE. Freakin' sauna.

These guys are right. Try S.Florida where its 100 degrees AND raining. The steam rising off the ground never goes away.

I grew up in Miami and currently live here; but lived in Dallas for 10 years where the temps can easily get to 100 in the summer – IME I'll take 100 deg in Dallas over 90 deg in Miami b/c Dallas is much drier – in Dallas if I was in the shade it was not too bad; in Miami even in the shade you are swearing buckets especially in the summer.

Never been to Phoenix but have heard great things about it and in particular the hot women – seems there are a lot of young people there and a lot of hot young women sporting great tans and wearing skimpy sexy clothes b/c of the weather – and I believe ASU has one of the largest student bodies in the country – it looks like a cool town to me especially for a young person.

w.r.t. snakes and scorpions – if it was that bad no one would live there and one would hear of people dying from it all the time – you probably have a much greater chance of getting killed by a car or by being a victim of crime.

If you are not going to have a car at least get a bicycle; much better and faster way to get around than on foot (in Miami public buses have racks in the front where one can put their bicycle).

Best of luck and I think you'll like it there.

w.r.t. Phoenix clubs – I don't quite recall b/c I don't follow west-coast reviews much; but I believe Blue Moon and Bandaids are at least more ethnic but it appears one takes a hit on looks but perhaps mileage is better.

When I spent my first summer in Phoenix, I thought, I knew it would be fucking hot, and it is fucking hot, but whatever, it's sunny 300+ days per year and in January I laugh at the losers elsewhere.

The second summer... not so good.

By the third summer I fucking hated the fucking heat.

And yes, absolutely get a car. Unless you live and work within steps of a light rail station, the public transportation sucks.

And yes, Hi-Liter is best. But if you want more ethnic, there are plenty of places to go.

You will not have your window open at night in the summer. Trust me. It will still be in the high 80's to low 90's many nights. But you are coming in August so you will only have about two months before it starts to cool down and then you will wonder why everyone is walking around in jackets when it's 65 degrees in November and December because you'll be going around in a t-shirt and shorts your first winter.
Hi-Liter is solid you'll like it but depending on what ur looking for there are many different clubs all within a short distance of each other in downtown Phoenix with a variety of girls to choose from.
Hit me up after you settle in and I'll show you around.

Ranukam, we'll need to hang out more before you make the move.

AZ was my home town and the SC scene there is pretty nice, much better then our current PDX honestly, in terms of extras and different options available.

As others have mentioned, Hi Liter is definitely the best club in PHX. As far as girls, there are so many hot chicks at ASU, it's quite a scene.

It does get hot but it's not terrible. People tend to exaggerate about how the heat is unbearable but it's really not that bad. It will be a big change for you since the weather is such a change from Portland but you'll get used to it.

You're lucky, Nukey. Phoenix was my #1 city for SCs before I visited Detroit. Even now I'd say it's close.

I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised with the strip clubs in Phoenix. Coming from California the non SF clubs don't give you much mileage and are all pretty lame.

I have to admit tho I wasn't blown away by civilian chicks, but I didn't hang out much in Tempe and Scottsdale.

Thanks for the insight. It looks like I definitely need a car even if I'm working and living in downtown Phoenix. I'm finally going to live in a city with hot girls. I'm excited.

Summer in AZ is the same as winter in Canada. It lasts 6 months and you can't stand to be outside. You hibernate indoors only venturing outside when it is after dark -- then it is a dry 90 degrees and barely bareable. Otherwise, it is nirvana. You will have to have a car! Good news -- you are about 5.5 hours away from TJ by car (and it is mostly Interstate all the way).

I don't quite understand the obsession with scorpions and snakes, you won't see them in the middle of the city. Agree with all the club comments to date. You will get used to the heat, but you just can't stay outside during the day. The light rail is great, but doesn't run close to any clubs. The AC in the HL sometimes doesn't quite keep up in the corners or in VIP, but it's so fuckin great you won't care. Bourbon has almost too cold AC, but definitely plenty of high end eye candy. Good luck with the move, maybe we need to pu together a Phoenix-TUSCL gathering at the HL after you get here.

@azdd- you're right, we could do a Phoenix TUSCL meet. I didn't realize there were this many TUSCLers in Phoenix.

ASU girls are pretty awesome from those I've seen who visit or move out here. SDSU girls can give them a run for their money of course. I've lived in cold places where girls shut down in the winter months, putting on weight they won't shed until spring, but in the sunshine belt it can be bikini season in February.
