Television in clubs

I can't remember going to a club that didn't have TVs and they are usually turned on to some sporting event. If I'm watching the TV in a club it must really be boring.

Seems like more and more have tv's anymore, especially the dive bars. Usually sports of some type on, although I have seen such as soaps on in the afternoon, evening news quite a bit, a lot of reality TV, and one I semi frequent in the mid west right off a major interstate corridor has one that runs the weather channel only (owner says its so the truck drivers that stop by can see what kind of weather is going on outside). I actually once walked in once to one on a Sunday and they had on a televangelist at the pulpit, asked the barmaid and she told me that there was a loophole in a local ordinance and if they had it on in the bar local officials couldn't make them close on Sunday's (I know, sounded screwy to me also but it was in the Bible Belt so I guess it made sence).

interesting. for me, it's the opposite. i can only recall ONE club i've ever been in that didn't have at least one TV. maybe it's location?

i've heard a couple people mention this.......but i've never experienced it myself. i wonder how common it is. i could be wrong, but it's probably not the norm.

GoVik, it really depends on they type of club your going to. In my experiance, higher end "clubs" tend not to have TV's. They want you to focus on the entertainment they are providing and usually for what it cost you in those places you really don't want the distraction of a television anyways. I actually tend to go more to (usually, but not always) dive bars and holes in the walls, places that are a lot of times bars that also just happen to have dancers at. Places like that are usually watering holes for locals and most have at least one (if not multiple) TV's around.

Most clubs in Atlanta have multiple TVs and the bouncers will change the channel for you. Shadow is right, if you are watching the game at a strip club it is time to head home.

Most clubs here have multiple TVs. One turns them off Friday and Saturday night.

Never been in a club where they were showing porn. Most clubs by me have multiple large screen tvs. Most show the local sporting events. Or have them on ESPN or Fox Sports.

The clubs around here all have tv's and all are always on sports when we go. Wild Cherry will show uncensored music videos on them during the night and all the videos are ones that have naked women. Never seen any actual porn on any of them though.

Only time I've experienced porn in the wild was a long time ago at a seedy motel. Had to head into a hurricane to do an emergency job in south georgia. Drove 10 hours to get there as everyone else was driving the other way...lol. Town was so small it didn't even have a McD's. All they had was 1 gas station, 1 by the hour motel and a pizza hut. Plus, the massive industrial plant I was headed to and doing work on as the eye of the hurricane passed overhead. Anyway, late that night as the hurricane finished going over us the helper I took with me found a hardcore porn channel. Not PPV; actual free hardcore porn. I remember the world series was on (at that time i still watched baseball) and I wanted to watch it but he wanted to watch porn. So we compromised. In between the money shots he'd switch back so I could watch a few minutes of the top and bottom of each inning. i woke up the next morning to head out and dumb ass still had on the same clothes passed out on top of his bed and people were still fucking like rabbits on the tv. Dude didn't even clean up, change clothes or get in the bed. Last time I took him with me anywhere. By far and away the seediest, raunchiest place I've ever had to stay at in my entire life.

Most clubs I go to have sports of some kind on TV. My favorite club shows porn, most often MILF porn from a DVD. Several years ago, I went to a club in Illinois which was showing Fox News, which pissed me off to no end. AFAIAC, Bill O'Reilly has no place in a strip club. OTOH, at the now defunct Tropicana south of Topeka, they were showing Sanford and Son on TV Land once, complete with the volume turned up. To hear the one PL's commentary was hilarious.

In one Detroit-area club you are surrounded by large screen TVs on the walls. I think they show C-SPAN.

The club I go to often has hunting shows on. Metaphorically correct but a needless distraction.

meh, i actually enjoy watching the vikings game at the club every now and then. but i understand why some of you wouldn't be interested in the TV when you're in the club

but for me...........what could beat football, beer, and beautiful women :-)

One club fucked up one time and televised a spelling B

I was thinking as most that almost every club I go to has TVs – but then read Impala's comment “... higher end "clubs" tend not to have TV's ...” and yeah – thinking about it a bit the few clubs I don't recall TVs in were the higher-end clubs.

I've seen porn being shown in a dive or two; but it's not too common – and yeah; I do get distracted by the porn but don't pay attention to it exclusively.

I don't recall seeing them from my few visits.

^^^ Yes. Follies does have a couple of TV's.

Follies TVs are usually showing local sports. The sound is down but the annoying DJ makes up for it by giving a bit of play-by-play or score updates.

Every club I have been to that has tv's has them on sports.
