A man was shot in the shoulder while leaving a strip club in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to police.

The 29-year-old man and a friend left the strip club near the corner of Broadway Street and Columbus Avenue just after 1 a.m.

They were getting into their car when they heard gunshots. The victim was struck in the left shoulder as he was getting into the car’s passenger seat, police said.

The man’s friend drove him to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Police have not released any information about possible suspects in the shooting.

It's seems much safer to be a day clubber. No cover charges, less crowded, no bouncers watching your every move, and by 2am I'm safe at home asleep.

Those North Beach Places are of couse the Deja Vu touristy places, more fantasy than delivery. But North Beach is not usually seen as a tough neighborhood.

MBOT and New Century are locals places, and the neighborhood is tough. So too for Crazy Horse.

Too bad Market St. Cinema and Pink Diamonds are gone.

The Barbary Coast district covered the North Beach area right? It was a tough area back in the day.

Going that far back, things were very different. There was a time when it got so bad that vigilantes took over. And then there were the cribs in China Town, women who were kept penned up while waiting for their next client. It was pretty close to slavery.

But today, S.F. is a very expensive place to live. North Beach is right next to the Financial District and that Trans America Pyramid.

The regulars clubs, MBOT, New Century, and Crazy Horse are no where near there. It is actually these which are in neighborhoods considered more dicey.
