Passports and Canadian/Mexican strip clubs

Sunday, April 10, 2005 10:50 AM
The US Government is going to start forcing people to have a passport to come back into the country when coming back from Canada and Mexico. How much of an affect do you think this will have on the strip clubs near the border. I think they get a decent amount of business from the States. I go to clubs in Niagara Falls a couple times a year - usually during the summer - and don't have a passport. How much do you think that the passport rule will hurt some of the clubs on the border?

It's a good idea to always have a passport when leaving the country, even if the place that you're going doesn't require it. It could possibly save you a lot of trouble. And keep it with you, don't leave it in your hotel room. I never leave the country without one. As for getting a passport, every county courthouse has a passport office - all you need is 2 photos and some ID.

I wonder when everyone will recognize the need and benefit of having chips implanted? I can just see where strippers will only have boyfriends who have been implanted with a chip or chips. Sort of a status symbol like having a boyfriend who has gone to PRISON or works as a CRIMINAL. Damn, strippers can be so demanding . . .

DandyDan--just put "US Passport" in Google. There are a lot of private services that will do the work--for a fee--if you don't want to go the Post Office and walk it through yourself.

Probably a dumb question, but how do you go about getting a passport?

DandyDan--Not a stupid question at all. The application is available on the web or at a central post office in your city. Photos can be made at Kinko's. The U.S. Passport Office has been downsized over the last decade and the applications are now processed at designated U.S. Post Office locations. This requirement is the first step towards a national identity card. Nude clubs in Canada get a lot of customers from Detroit. The casinos in Windsor compete with the casinos in Detroit. Visitors to Detroit like to to go to Canada just for the giggle of visiting a foreign country while visiting Detroit. Truck traffic vital to the automobile industry crosses this border every day. Does every trucker have to show a passport? What will this do to trade and manufacturing after it kills the American tourists in clubs.

I don't think that most tourinsts who go to Canada already have passports. For example, Niagara Falls is practically a tourist town, and I'll bet no more than 1/3rd of US tourists going there have passports. I know that has been a destination of several bachelor parties from where I live and I'll bet few in the parties I know about has a passport.
