POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Romance led to financial woes for an elderly South Florida man who said he was swindled out of at least $27,000 by a young woman he had been dating for more than a year.

Too bad he hadn't been going to strip clubs. Then he might have recognized the scam.

Was thinking the same thing – only if he would have been aware of TUSCL :)

"She came running back to me, and she said, 'My partner wants $20,000," he said.

Why would he willingly give her $20,000 for her partner?

Is this a case of taking advantage of the ederly or was he just stupid?

How's this different than a sugar daddy situation? That will be the defense. Did he really think a pretty 26yo would be interesting in a 85yo.

Can I claim the thousands I spent at various stripclubs over the past few decades as a scam? After all plenty of them promised me more than they delievered.

For $27,000 I hope he got more than companionship.
