Strip Club Worker 'Finds' Rental Car

Johnston Police charged Stephanie Marsh, 33, with rental car fraud.

A Providence strip club worker 'miraculously' found a car she'd rented that had gone missing for several days, according to Johnston Police.

Stephanie Marsh, 33, of Providence, faces one count of obtaining a car with intent to defraud a rental company following her arrest by East Providence Police on Sept. 11.
Local police had issued a warrant for Marsh's arrest after the manager of a Johnston rental car agency told officers on Aug. 28 that Marsh had rented a 2012 Nissan Sentra and hadn't brought it back by the return date of Aug. 21.

Det. Thomas Dwyer reported that he spoke with Nicholas Nunes, the manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Hartford Avenue, on Aug. 28.

Nunes said that when he called Marsh about the car, she claimed that she'd lent the car to a friend, who "let another friend borrow the vehicle and she no longer [knew]" who had the car, according to Dwyer's report.

Dwyer noted that Nunes also said he'd called Marsh's employer, the Satin Doll strip club in Providence, in trying to reach her.

On Aug. 26, Nunes told Dwyer, Marsh claimed that she couldn't find the car, and hadn't reported it stolen.

After his own tries at reaching Marsh failed, Dwyer issued the arrest warrant.

On Aug. 29, Dwyer reported that Nunes had contacted him to report that Marsh had "miraculously located her vehicle" that morning, and had returned it to the rental agency, leaving an unpaid bill of $500.

Then, on Sept. 11, Ptlm. Ryan Lemieux went to East Providence Police headquarters to pick up Marsh after officers in that city arrested her.

Marsh pleaded not guilty to the charge at arraignment, and is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Sept. 27, according to online court records.

Man, she's 33 and still thinks she can get away with shit like that? That's pretty dumb. Even for a stripper.
