  This is real. Spitzer is very competent and his family is rich. He has a big ego and thinks he should be a government leader. Spitzer can probably win his race, but the madam won't let people forget the scandal.
  
  Personally, I don't think visiting prostitutes should disqualify you for public office. But of course I spent last night with a stripper.

  NY would have to be very different from nearly all the rest of the country then. Even out here I don't think he could make it to any elected office.

  I think it depends on how exploitive the situation is. High end call girls like he seemed into or high-end fully regulared brothels like the Bunny Ranch, no.
