1. Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. 19th and 20th century buildings and artifacts, including such things as the original Wright's Bicycle Shop and Thomas Edison's Laboratory.
2. Downtown Detroit. Take a ride the whole way around the downtown area on the People Mover (75 cents).
3. Greektown. A stop on People Mover. Greek restaurants. A casino if you like to gamble.
4. Renaissance Center. A stop on People Mover.
5. Hart Plaza and the Joe Louis sculpture.
6. Windsor, Canada. If you have a passport, take the tunnel over to Windsor. A nice little town to walk around and great views of Detroit from the south.
A car (or cab) ride through the residential areas near downtown. Do this in the morning ONLY to avoid the otherwise common gunfire. Looks like a bombed out warzone. Frightening and informative.

The Arab Muslim community has built the Islamic Center of America, the largest mosque in North America, and the Dearborn Mosque.
Warren Avenue has the commercial center of the Arab-American community. The Arab American National Museum is located in Dearborn. The museum was opened in January 2005 to mark the Arab American community's history and contributions to the United States.
The Detroit Institute of Arts is one of the great museums of the world. So much so, that some people think that it should be sold for $1B to cut the city's defict. It's a must see for any visitor, whether you are an artsy person or not.

Slows Barbecue is very good and if you're by yourself is a quick seat at the bar.
The Tigers are in town this weekend and Comerica is a pretty good ballpark.
A jolly milf from H8S led me to that joint. She also provided other entertainment for me on one of my Detroit visits.
