This article tells the story of the rumored wild party at the mansion of Detroit's mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in 2002.
For those who don't follow Detroit politics (you lucky bastards), Kilpatrick ran a corrupt administration and was forced to resign during his second term after being exposed for committing perjury in a sexting scandal. Kilpatrick and his father and his best friend are currently on trial on federal racketeering charges.
I dismissed the stripper party rumors for years, just as this article does. But later Kilpatrick's actions made me realize that he would do many worse things than hold a party with strippers.
The wild party may be just a rumor. But I have a stripper friend who claims she was asked to go to the party as a stripper (she did not attend) and who says a friend of hers did strip at the party.

Aw shucks, jackslash, I know myself and many, many, many of us got a kick out of reading the latest of Kwame's fall from power as it became increasingly well known what a schlep Kwame is. I mean, like when his old lady claims she doesn't have anything to do with the couple's finances. Yeah, right. Maybe Kwame hasn't told her where all the millions are stashed that he extorted from business people in the course of the city's business dealings.
