Chitownlawyer, I hope your FAQ includes clarification about the long term consequences of getting busted for various offenses in a strip club. I mean specifically the lasting label of "sex offender" that can lump a boob fondler with a child molester in the eyes of the public. You warned of this in a post some months ago.

I'd be willing to write an article on the various different types of clubs that I've seen and how they differ. I think we established once before that I've probably been to more different clubs than anyone else here ( think I estimated 120 different clubs in maybe 20 different states.) Be that as it may, I haven't been to any where near all of them and would certainly welcome input from others. Maybe we need a place where we can posts drafts for others' comments.

david's...do you mean something along the lines of the proverbial "what she really means when she says...?".. Kind of like when a woman says NO she really means YES(or is it when a wman says YES she really means NO--damn, I always get confused on that on--lol)

Because people seem to be interested in the law, and there are a lot of misconceptions in that area, I'm thinking about offering to write an FAQ about legal issues concerning strip clubs/stripping. Since these are matters of state law (predominantly), I'm wrestling with the issue of whether a "once off the top" quick overview would be useful, or if it would just create more misunderstanding. (Since I'm not law school faculty, and don't have to worry about tenure, I'm not going to write a comprehensive, fifty-state review Law Review type of article on the subject).

I'm about to go on vacation for ten days, and I'll think about while I am gone.

I am thinking of writing a real FAQ for strip club regulars. For example:

Q: "A stripper just told me that she considers me to be her 'friend'. What did she mean by that?"

A: "This is an inside joke amongst strippers. When strippers to say this to each other it is, literally, just a synonym for 'customer'."

Q: "A stripper just told me that 'maybe' we should meet each other outside of the club sometime. What did she mean by that?"

A: "If she wanted to meet you outside the club she would take the lead in making it happen and there won't be any ambiguity. 'Maybe' is just her way of leading you on."

etc....

What do you guys think?

While I don't feel qualified to write this one solo, we had a great discussion on stripper archetypes a while back. I'd love to see a "Know your stripper" article with descriptions of "The Party Girl", "The Bad Girl", "New Girl", "Single Mom", and all the others we know and love. Just an idea for someone more ambitious than me.
