My clubbing expenses come out of disposable income. Bills and other essentials are paid first.

Fortunately, I have not yet been in a position where I've needed to choose one or the other.

Never. Bills & other real life things happen first. Clubbing comes out of my entertainment fund, and that is currently going into: car parts, clubbing, & hanging out with friends.

When I was younger, I was totally irresponsible, and would spend money on strippers before doing something really important, like not living with my parents. Then I discovered credit cards where you could take out cash and you only had to pay the minimum each month, so eventually I was maxed out, so I had to quit the credit cards. Now that I think of it, the year without strip clubs (2002) may have been a byproduct of forcing myself to live without credit cards as much as the fact the clubs I went to were boring. As for now, I always make sure the rent and cable/internet are paid
