I think popo usually looks the other way w.r.t. BP - if not, then not too many girls would really post and not too many guys would use it.

I saw a TV show on CNBC that focused on human trafficking - they've done serveral of them but one of them focused a lot on BP - it seems the police, at least in that show, were mainly concerned with minors adverstising themselves on BP. BP is so prevalent that popo does not have the resources to go after this kind of thing as long as minors are not involved - plus this kind of stuff is done behind closed doors so it's not like streetwalking prostitutes that would affect a neighborhood. Maybe in some cities, they might enforce it more? Life is a risk anyway, you can't avoid every possible risk, you just have to weigh the odds and I think they are in your favor in terms of not getting busted - your BP-intensive friend has gotten busted - has he?

W.r.t. pics in BP - many girls will advertise stuff like "100% real pics." etc. - if they do this it is b/c there is a lot of "bait and switch" as they call it. But I do think that most of the pics. are of the real girl, but some definitely are not and anyone who BPs enough has probably been burned by this. Also, often the girls will either put an old pic. of them where they looked better/thinner or take pics. of themselves in certain positions/angles that make them look better than they really are. If I were you, I would tell the girl I would need to see her first prior to meeting inside a hotel room - the girls know that "bait and switch" happens all the time and they should understand you need to see the product first.

Never hired from BP, but I've noticed a few times when the same photo will show up under several different names and ages, so obviously at least one of them is fake.

Backpage is very shady (bait & switch, Law enforcement, etc.).

Do the following:
1. Check out Eccie.net, theeroticreview.com, or preferred411.com for reviews & more legit advertisers.
2. Google the phone number & see if it looks shady.
3. Image search their photos Using Tineye.com (if it has hits, they probably stole the image from whichever site & using it there).

*Note for #2, phone number shadiness = multiple hits on advertising sites but with different pictures for the same named provider. But sometimes you'll get different girls for the same number (phone # is probably the pimp phone, making it even shadier).

I've made use of BP about 5 times. 3 of the times the girl used a picture that wasn't her, 1 time the pic was altered and photoshopped so much it almost didn't seem like the same person and only 1 time was the girl in the picture the actual girl you saw at the hotel. Seems like the rule is that if the girl looks too hot, then the pic isn't legit. If the pic is average or below then it's probably legit.

Don't bother seeing anyone that is not TER reviewed and you'll be just fine generally speaking.

I know plenty of people that go the BP route, and the only way to do it is to do your research. TER is a necessity, and use google to check numbers and names. If a number pops up all over the country or under lots of different names, I'd say stay clear. There are also boards dedicated to that just like TUSCL is dedicated to strip clubs.

I've been concerned about both, as a local friend has been hitting chicks left and right off BP for months. He has given me the phone numbers and pictures of a couple of conquests. There was roughly a 50/50 split of real picture usage, versus fake pics. Most of the fakes were fatter or older than the beautifully airbrushed photos on BP, but all of the women I've seen were 7s or better.

In general it is agencies, not independents, who do the bait and switch. Just make it clear that if it is not the girl in the photo you are going to leave and then follow through.

Some escorts will require references to learn more about you. Most want references from another escort to make sure you are safe.

Use google and cidlookup.com for phone numbers. Use tineye and google image search for images. www.usasexguide.info is another good source, though if you're new, explicit questions will likely elicit a "read the fucking forums" comment.

My experience of backpage is that 99% of the ads are fake, including fake pics. I have seen a lot of backpage ads where photos of girls that I know escort in London are supposedly woking in the U.S. and I know for a fact they never work anywhere but London.

Like thE guys say, go onto TER and pick a girl with lots of reviews from various punters.
