Rick's Cabaret Adding Locations in 2011

Rick's Cabaret International (RICK) expects to add four more locations next year.

The company expressed optimism about 2011, and reiterated its goal of making at least one acquisition per quarter.

Rick's also said that Dallas hosting the Superbowl, in February, will also be a benefit, given its “terrific cluster of seven clubs ready to welcome fans” in the city.

In a recent Houston Rick's review, poster said that Rick's has a nice venue (I very much disagree) and the club has poor dancers and poor service.

Their most recent acquisition, Gold Cup in Indianapolis is ranked on the TUSCL top 100 list. It will be interesting to see what other clubs they acquire.

As a little background Gold Club in Indy was run into the ground by owner and his girlfriend manager in the early part of this decade after Brad was forced to sell the club. In late 2008 a new owner bought and started with some renovation but stopped advertising in the local free paper that all other top Indy clubs bought space in. The new owner died in a accident before renovations were completed.

Stopped in last weekend and the girls were discussing rumors that the club will close for 3 weeks for renovation. Also they mentioned the Super Bowl in 2012 which will be in Indy if they have an NFL season. Seeing the Dallas comment above that makes more sense than it did Saturday.

This club is ripe for a turnaround but is in a declining part of town. While ranked about 33rd on here it is the third ranked club in town and perhaps 4th ranked in the area if you include Hip Huggers in Kokomo. The city also has a PT's Show Club which is better known and draws the strip club amateurs. Rick's may be in for a tough go if they try to go upscale the local neighborhood won't support it. In addition they are looking at turning over nearly all the staff with that type of model. On the competitive front the economics of a visit to BBF always provides a high value competitive price point.

From part of the press release on the Gold Club purchase it would seem that they will be looking for other clubs in the central US.
