Here and other places, the question is asked, when and why did strip clubs become a hands on experience ? As opposed to when clubs were just "look, but no touch !!" Was it online porn, Eastern Euro models, or something else ? I have the answer....
wait for it.....
First, at work today, the question came up as to whether it was legal for an employer to require their staff to be male or female. I remembered the one exception to this bias-which came from a U.S. Supreme Court case. And so, the answer is-
HOOTERS
In the early 90's, I discovered Hooters, and at the time, Hooters was thought a bit risque. However, everything changed with the lawsuit. Some effeminate black guy, through the ACLU, filed a lawsuit against Hooters because they wouldn't hire him as a waiter. The suit reached the U.S. Supreme Court (legitimizing Hooters once and for all).
I was a Hooters fan at the time. At the time, the only difference between Hooters and a strip club was that a strip club charged an obscene amount of money to just look. The strip clubs had to compete. The VIP/Champagne room was invented and a table dance (all air) quickly gave way to the hands on lapdance.
And there you have it kiddos.
