Off topic: Headed to Amsterdam

Going to be in Amsterdam in early December for 4 days, and I thought I'd take an opinion pole on preferences from experienced travelers. After reading a bit on the 'net there appear to be are three choices for the monger: RLD, privehuis, and escort. Each seems to have its advantages and disadvantages.

The red-light district is the stock and trade of the city with the obvious advantage of a wide variety and getting getting what you like. The disadvantage seems to be a rushed experience, little privacy and a fair amount of negotiating for "extras."

The privehuis, which I understand to be basically a brothel, offers a more intimate setting at a moderate price. A very limited selection of girls is the main set back. The sex club, a more expensive version of the privehuis seems to be a popular choice, although to me it just seems like a strip club champagne room where you pay too much for a drink.

Finally there's the escort option, which is the most expensive, but the girl is coming to your hotel room.

So, if you have been, which did go with? I am leaning towards the RLD, because I can shop for exactly what I want, but the other options are appealing as well.

I would check out the RLD because it makes Amsterdam unique. Also try your luck at picking up one of those free love hippies from the coffee shops where they sell those special brownies and pot.
You can hire an escort in parts of Canada or visit Tijuana if you want a brothel (I am assuming you are from CA since most of your reviews are from CA)

Aha, we are talking about my neighbourhood! Amsterdam offers you everything you possibly can disire, wish or imagine. But; you have to know the way! The RLD is not as sensational as it was before. You will find lots of inexperient tourists and inpatient, gold digging girls from Eastern Europe and Central Africa. Real erotic entertainment you will find nearby; from stripclubs and bananashows till hardcore bdsm and exclusive sexclubs. Explain a native (not Moroccan or Turkish) taxidriver what- and which level you're looking for and he will show you the way. Don't be shy, probably you're number 20 that day who is asking this kind of info. Anyway, but specially as tourist, be careful with picking up girls in the streets offering you all kinds of services; reasonable chance (you will find out to late) that "she" actually is a he or just to get ripped or even mugged. I have been several times either to smoke dope after a European business trip or in one case or pick up lots of dope before going on a month long bike ride across Europe.

I have had some good times at Société Anonyme (a brothel). My recommendation is mostly based on the notion (at the time) that they did not partake in taxi or champagne scams. You can just have a normally priced drink there and leave if you don't see something you like.

The RLD is worth a look just for the experience... They have some AMAZING looking women. Just make sure you don't stroll down the wrong street, you'll be staring at trannies, was NOT pleasant.

If I saw the right girl there it would be hard for me not to toss out 50 Euro and see what happens.

A brothel is probably your best bet, if the selection sucks, leave and go find a another.

That said... Enjoy it while you can, they are doing their best to get that stuff out of Amsterdam.

You're going to be there for four days, I would say try all three, one each day. And on the fourth day go see the Anne Frank house.
