This story is actually from 2002 when Italy started on the Euro, but it doesn't seem to be an idea that has taken off. BTW, I guess the going rate for stage tips in Italy back then was less than 70 cents American per tip!

I saw this old article highlighted recently on TV, and the dancer's bottoms in question had numerous magnets all over the front & back for coins to be placed.
