I recently saw a movie called Girl Next Door (2007) based on Jack Ketchum's novel that turned out to be more like a snuff film. It was loosely based on the true story of Sylvia Likens a murder victim from Indiana. She was tortured to death by her aunt, aunt's children, and other young people from their neighborhood.
The Sylvia Likens story is one of the absolute worst I've ever heard. Even thinking about (I foolishly read the crimelibrary story with all its gory details) makes me nauseous. The people involved- the whole family- should have gotten the death penalty, or failing that never been allowed to live normal lives anywhere.
It's not unlike that story out of Seattle recently of the parents who kept their daughter locked up in a room, where she was so malnourished she had to drink dew from the curtains because they locked the bathroom from her (when they caught her drinking from the toilet because she was so dehydrated). Luckily she survived, and is apparently doing better after having her growth stunted, her teeth falling out, etc.

family torture ? Like Ricksfan said-give them all the death penalty-concrete overshoes.
