I'm a single dude headed to Vegas and was wondering if I could some advice on the best clubs. I'm leaning towards the Palomino but if anyone has advice on this subject (or advice on which casino to play at) I would appreciate it

The Palomino, hands down. It is my favorite club in Vegas and I agree with other posters that most of the other clubs in Vegas are highly overrated.

My advice is to rent a car while you are out there, particularly if you are going to be casino hopping as they are very spread out and waiting for taxis can be a drag (and get expensive). Virtually all of the casinos on the strip have complimentary valet parking. Also, the Palomino charges a much higher cover if you come in by cab as they need to pay out to the cabbie.

Best of luck!

I was so disappointed on my prior Vegas clubbing experience that I didn't even go to a club on my last trip. I've had much better times for less money in places like Dayton, OH and Lexington KY.

That said, my favorite club on the last venture was Olympic Gardens. On the other side, I think most punters will agree that the Fremont St. clubs are the biggest money waste in town. I never went to the Palomino so I can't comment there.

I'll heartily second rickdugan's advice on the car, Dollar rental usually has great deals - you can get to clubs, better restaurants, even all the way out to a brothel if the mood takes you.

If you're gambling on the best player advantage games - blackjack and baccarat - it shouldn't matter much where you play in terms of odds; if it feels comfy and they bring the drinks, you're good. Always join the casino club and register your card while you play, even if you are tight enough to never get a comp worth a damn. You never know. I like the Golden Nugget, MGM Grand, and Golden Gate.

As they say in Vegas - Good luck, sir!

If this is your first visit then check out the palomino and maybe one of the big names but be prepared for high prices and pretty low value. Casinos are so much personal preference so it's difficult to know what you'll like. If you're young you would want to try the hard rock. In general the MGM/Mirage group and the downtown casinos have better rules for blackjack. Limits will be lower downtown and at off-strip places like Orleans. If you play black jack watch out for the rip off 6:5 game.

On Spearmint Rhino: I walked over around 6pm on a Saturday night. Door guy saw me (walking up) and after checking my id, followed me up to the cashier window. The cashier said "$50", to which the door guy immediately stated "$20". I then got in for $20. I was also given two tickets for drinks, so basically my admission paid for my first two beverages.

Having heard this is a top club with many, many women, I got a seat at the side of the main stage until I left at about 2am. Yes, an 8 hour shift of railsitting! I don't think I ever saw the same gal twice, and every one of them was a 7+. Further, I developed some comraderie with the folks seated next to me, which allowed for my seat to be saved for bathroom trips and/or lap dances (I did 5 $20 dances while there, and heard the VIP really isn't much better contact wise.) I doled out about $200 in singles in rail tipping (waitresses were phoenomenal in keeping me supplied with $1s; also they don't hustle you to always have a drink in front of you!) For a $1 a girl to sit stageside and "see the sights, etc.", I think that's one's best value at the Rhino. [By the way, they go from one gal at a time on stage in the early evening, to two, and then three; that's how one can rack up $200 in $1 tips.]

Upon walking back to the strip, a taxi stopped to hustle me as a ride over to an Asian Massage Parlor, no doubt to collect some of that customer delivery bonus money places give cabbies to bring business in.

Also tried the Deja Vu but it SUCKED.

Enjoy you're trip!

I had a great time at OG during the day. No cover charge, reasonably priced drinks, free pizza, and a few great dancers. Not the same caliber or variety as night, but a couple of real winners. No pressure at all by anyone. Downside was the dark, and lack of crowd energy.

Same is probably true of other clubs. Forget the nighttime cover charges and drink prices, and spend it on thd girls instead!

Thank you to everyone who replied. I've been to Atlantic City twice but this year seems like a good time to try Sin City

The clubs in Las Vegas that are ranked in the top tuscl 100 list:

#90: Cheetash, #95 Olympic Garden, #100 Spearmint Rhino

Kind of strange to see the las vegas clubs going downhill..but I guess with the way the economy has tanked in LV it is no surprise.

Due to unforseen circumstances the trip to Vegas has been cancelled (couldn't get anybody to join me). Due to this I will be heading off to Atlantic City next month. I probably will be reviewing Bare Exposure but I might go to Alure as they have full nude on stage (based on the tuscl ratings everywhere else is only bikini ((and I will not go to a bikini club when nude is available))).

Thank you again to everyone who replied
