2nd visit total opposite of 1st?

LeeH- I have been to several places like that, only it sets up so that the first visit was great and the second was a total dud. That situation is even worse than your situation. You don't know if it normally sucks, but you happen to catch it on a lucky day, or if the opposite is true, although generally, it's somewhere in between. In my experience, however, 90% of the places I've been to more than once are either great both times or they suck both times.

Hey DandyDan, I think we all agree that about 90% of the clubs are fairly stable from one night to another -- for those that have more than one shift, a little less so from one shift to another.

It's the other ten percent that makes strip clubbing so interesting -- the unpredictability. To me, strip clubbing is a little like gambling, and everybody (I THINK) knows that the Great Appeal of gambling is not the chance to win, over the long haul. It is the unpredictability. Most people in their heart-of-hearts know they probably aren't going to walk away from the Friendly Casino richer than they walked in. But there is that unpredictability factor that can be so alluring, so addictive.

Yes I have had the experience of "night and day difference" in the same club on different days. One that comes immediately to mind is Temptation (Temptations?) In downtown Kansas City. The difference may have been due to whoever was in charge of the girls. If the girls knew that the supervisor (house-mom, bouncer) couldn't care less what happened on stage or in the Private area, they would loosen up & have a good time, & so would I the Customer. And Vice Versa of course.

Yeah it depends a lot on what day/night you go. I have noticed saturday nights are usually prime time. Friday nights are probably second best...but of course the friday/saturdays are very crowded and have a lot of ROBs mixed in as well.

I hear ya, samsung. I haven't had quite the disparity of experience that I referenced, but it's clear that some clubs are different depending on the time and week/end.

But in both clubs that I'm talking about, both times were in the middle of the week and after midnight. That's what struck me as truly strange (in a good, albeit expensive, way).

There is no greater evidence of the inconsistencies at clubs than the reviews posted on this very fine site. Granted there are differences in tastes between reviewers, but if you look at a dozen reviews for the same place over a few months, you are likely to see a wide range of good and bad experiences. I agree with arbeeguy that it is the unpredictability that is part of the appeal, which is why most of us continue to sample different places rather than just live in our favorite club.

Are women unpredictable? So, then are the places where they are the central attraction.

OTOH, the 2nd club, the problem with the first visit was that all the women looked the same. Granted, they were all 8s and 9s, but the overall effect of the sameness made it into a 5 or 6. Then the second time was like a variety smorgasbord (and, again, both trips were late at night, in the middle of the week).

Each night is different - i never expect the same kind of outing. It all depends on the girls working that night, managers working that night, type of clientelle visiting that night, amount of money being spent by the customers.

I've had OP's experience in reverse- several clubs that I had a great time at on 1st visit, I brushed off a subsequent off night as one of those things (halo effect). However, if I have a bad experience on 1st visit, I'm not likely to return for another go. There's been a few times with a "lukewarm" 1st visit that have been an improvement on 2nd or 3rd visit, but not enough to propel club ahead of faves.

minnow, yeah, I hear ya. I probably wouldn't have given either club a second sniff after a bad first experience. But both had very good reviews (for Atlanta clubs) here, so I tried once more. My wallet no longer will talk to me.
